Irish TV RTE Testcard 1970

was 13 then... waiting watching the test card for awhile until our 1 perfect TV station came on..i think at the beginning it was 6 o clock until 11 (could be wrong) anyway it was magic..OK, it was black and white and picture would roll now and then but we didn't care and had no remote control either even when rte 2 was born ... we have hundreds of channels today BUT the magic is gone. " oh happy days "

times past.. happier times.. now with all the tecno and material wealth people are less happy.. back then you would never hear of a murder, drugs. etc etc.. out only kick at school was to have a cigarette and pray no one sees us...

I remember it. They also sometimes used one with "Reduced Power" written on it.

God, I was only 2 at the time but they must have used that weird looking R letter for a long time afterwards

The cross attached to the 'R' in RTE is the St. Brigid's cross - used as the RTE emblem until the last few years.
