Great videos but can you do a video on how to map loop roll to midi pads. Since 2.0 came with the midi panel and loop roll button, simply just mapping loop rool is no help. I want to be able to loop roll like i use to. Im using korg nano pads. I had 6 pads mapped to the diffrent loop lengths and had loop roll active making loops seemless. Now i have to click on the length b4 i push loop role button, which makes me have to completly stop one roll click next length then roll again. Plz help serat
@DJDVUS1 - Yes, you need to have your hardware connected to see the midi button at the top of the screen. You cannot midi map anything in the offline player when no hardware is connected.
Hey man, great video. I had a question about mapping the scroll/select feature... I can get it to scroll, and switch between crates/songs in crates... but when I move down the list it goes one at a time, but when i turn the nob the other way it automatically shoots up to the top of the list. Driving me crazy, am I missing something?
Dude you rock... listen I have sl3 and just purchased the x1 and i have no serato template loaded in the templates in the NI controller editor. please advise.
Update: with MIDI-OX and MIDI Yolk running, the FX features weren't working. I wasn't able to enable/disable. Also, tab focus to the crates wasn't working either. However, cue points, loop roll, manual loops worked fine. Once I disabled MIDI-OX/MIDI Yolk, your mapping worked exactly like your video. I guess I'll have to tinker with MIDI-OX if I want lights that bad.
Great video. I just picked up the Traktor Kontrol X1 and downloaded your mappings. Thanks by the way! However, on knob scrolling (tracks, crates, loop lengths) it's skipping by two. I checked the setting on the control editor and it's set to one. Serato midi setting is relative/2's compliment. Any ideas? I'm on a PC, running Serato 2.1, midiox and midi yolk.
cheers for this, but having not used serato before, how is this all hocked up into the serato box and the laptop? Does it require using two line channels on the mixer or just one as you would if using a soundcard?

Great vid. I was talked into buying the APC40 controller for Ableton. Could I use it to control Serato, or is it best to get something like Kontrol?

how about tips on best practices since most midi controllers don't have as many buttons as there are features in scratch live
TheUpperground 1 year ago
@TheUpperground That might be a little tricky as everyone has different wants/needs from their MIDI controller.
