Actually I think the 7s just have drive - the 'Steptronic' 3 series has a full auto mode and a semi-auto mode when you flick the stick to the side. Not great gearboxes unless you really just love cruising. I'd pay extra for the new 7-speed double clutch personally.

The slapstick in that car is INCREDIBLY RESPONSIVE. I would prefer that transmission over my stickshift car ANYDAY. I can shift all the way to sixth gear within a second and it would respond as soon as I pull towards me. DO SOME RESEARCH BEFORE YOU TALK SHIT. You press a button, pull up for reverse, down for neutral and drive, then over to the right to slapstick. Pull towards you to upshift, away to downshift. Then press P and your automatically in park.
