And as for the price, dude the average song is .99 cents on and an album is $9.99 itunes. I know sometimes an album coasts a lot, but I have well over 300 cd's and I'm a collage kid. I think that you can spare the $20.00 for an album, hell you spend that much for half a tank of gas and I doubt you seal gas.

All those multi million companies whining over people downloading stuff always claim it's to protect the income of the artists. While the artists themselves (the ones who aren't just in it for the money, ie real artists) couldn't care less as long as people listen/view their work.

One last shot! These artists should take a lesson from The Grateful Dead. The Dead used to allow their fans to record their live shows without fear of the record company or the band suing them for intellectual property rights. The Dead were one of if not the most successful money making live touring bands in the history of the world. If the pirate bay is being sued for providing the means to steal music, movies and programs, then the computer manufacturers need to be in the lawsuit for supplying the equipment to do it. Companies that manufacture MP3 players should be in there too. Companies who manufacture blank CD-R's DVD-R's and so on should be included as well. . So, lets bring them all to court! Oh while were there, bring Charlie Sheen in as well, he's due for another felony arrest anyway!

2. artists arent hurting at all, the companies leeching off their fame are just greedy.
3. that "lost revenue" is a number pulled out of their ass. they cant prove people who pirate would have bought their crap, so they didnt lose anything.
4. acting is only expensive because the people producing the movies make so much profit off each film. id gladly do a movie for $100, let alone $10,000,000.

You know it's funny how The Pirate Bay holds up this self-righteous banner of fighting for the little guy and standing up for free speech. These douchebags don't give a damn about any of that. They've used their websites popularity to sell ads and merchandise that has made them millionaires and they just want to keep their cash cow alive.
Their website's popularity is due solely to the work of other people at their expense. Other people's work has made them rich and now they're crying foul.

And on a personal level: they're not douchebags. They don't have millions in their bank account and they don't even want to keep their cash cow (which it never was) alive, check google for: 'let the pirate bay die', they ask for it themselves!

No doubt they've got some expenses but when you're in the top 50 most popular websites in the world then 4 million annual maintenance fees are chump change. These guys are millionaires and they got rich off of other people's work.

also labels are payed by ad sponsors and certain ad sponsors pay the labels which keeps them with money also more than 60 percent of the profit from concerts and shows goes straight into the band and or artists pocket giving them millions in less than a few weeks so i doubt they will go hungry unlike us poor civilians that make less than 10,000 a year, and to many artists they understand that they are not losing much from said sites like thepiratebay. cuz anybody can sing or act with training.
