  • @Twisted86 it is effective both ways... to get shredded and have more sharp look go fast and max reps. But to get that hardcore wide and thick back go up fast and come down real slow all the way down until you feel your lats stretching.

  • Good work Tpeterson, excellent full ROM. You looked like you could have done more. At my best I was able to do about 25 pullups, but my form was no where near as good as yours. Keep up the good work. I don't know how people can accuse you of using a trampoline, 20 is perfectly believable for someone with well developed lats like you.

  • for everyone watching this. im 5'9" 150lbs and i can do 23 dead hang pull ups like this guy and then some. i used to do 27 dead hang pull ups when i was lifting weights. it doesnt take a lot of muscle to do pull ups. its muscular endurance and weight-to-strength ratio.

  • I really don't understand my body when it comes to pullups, do most people have really good days and really bad days, on a bad day ill get 15, and on a good day ill get upto 25 without even warming up, its weird.

  • the number of pull ups u can do can suddenly shoot up if u rest for a couple of days.. not doing pull ups at all.. sometimes with training.. u wudn be able to do much the next day if the training was vigorous

    cause you know changing tempo (going faster / slower) is another good way to spice up a workout

    like sometimes if you hit a plateau then maybe just changing the tempo could get you over it ;)

    but if your a beginner, then don't go as fast as this guy is, cause you mite get hurt if your not using correct form ( not doing the movement right )

  • I do about 400 pullups a week as a climber. Fast pullups work explosive power--like running 40s if you are a sprinter. Slower pullups work endurance and power endurance. Both are important and will work your muscles differently. Slow pullups are much harder b/c you are engaging your muscles for a longer period in my opinion
