What did you contain your flash powder in? I have a couple of hundred grams of flash powder (un-mixed of course) and despite small 20g salutes in film canisters and things, im not sure the best way to contain one of maybe 100g

This is the best way to describe how flash powder burns

Deflagration = slow burn (Low Explosive)

Detonation = fast burn (High Explosive)

The explosion is relative to the level of confinement.

I would have to say, however, that flash powder can definately be classified as a high explosive; primary to be specific; because it can be caused to detonate, (at 2100 mps) unconfined, with a blasting cap. Its a primary HE, because a hammer can detonate it. Now I now most other HEs detonate much faster ( 3 to 10,000 mps ), but FP still does detonate, making it a semi-sensitive weak primary HE , its strength depending on the fineness of the particles... Great video by the way.
