  • Interesting how the Giants were double-teaming Drew Pearson. In a short while, after opponents realized how dangerous Tony Hill was, it was he who would get the double teams. That said, he still was Dallas' top receiver from 1979-86 and a three-time Pro Bowl selection.

  • @ 0:29, very good blitz pickup for TD by FB Robert Newhouse. I could call WR Tony Hill a power glider with remarkable extension, or just another ordinary WR with his share of strengths & weaknesses. I am choosing the latter. It's amazing & ironic how much talent was on 1978 NY Giants front 7 on defense-Gregory,Mendenhall,Martin,Carson,Van Pelt,Kelley(all practically in their prime). But before 1978, Mendenhall admitted to "looking forward to the season to see what disappointment it will bring".

  • @plntntvzn Giants didn't have a consistant pass rusher until LT joined the Giants in 81

  • @MrTennesseeVols OK, maybe Gregory & Mendenhall were declining by now (there was a time when those two WERE consistent pass rushers) while Martin was still rising.
