  • The world economy is based on planned obsolescence - necessary in order to perpetuate jobs and spending.

    Therefore the life expectancy of these nano-lights will of necessity be predetermined.

    In other words, probably no longer then traditional light bulbs.

    Planned decrepitude was not always the case:

    My cousin had a light bulb from the early part of the century that finally burnt out last year. They had a memorial service for the bulb honoring, its 75 yrs of dedicated service.

    Imagine that!

  • I look forward to trying these out when they are available for purchase. I love the idea of full spectrum lighting from a device that has no glass or gases involved.

    I do wonder if they'll have a long lifespan, and if they will be able to be recycled.
