I remember watching a playoff game in early 90's when the other team had their goalie pulled. A Vancouver player iced the puck down the rink from their zone and I knew we won the game because Bure was on the ice. He got the puck from behind their net and put it in without being touched.

Too bad it was a pre-season goal but it's still one of the sweetest breakaways ever. Damn if Pavel only got to play in in the 'current' NHL! He would easily score 100+ goals but I still prefer the 'dead puck' era aynways.

Pat Kane is good but mediocre at best against the Russian Rocket. Many hockey outlets try to call a speedy goalscoring type the "next Bure" but I'm still waiting to see something like that happen.

When I was young Pavel was my favorite player. Much to the chagrine of my redneck hockey friends who all liked Gretzky or the other classic Canadian players. For some reason I assumed there would always be another Bure but so far I haven't seen him yet.
