  • at 0:14 the charles m beeghly blows the horn

  • HONK!

  • honk!

  • HONK!

  • The Beeghly was on it's way out, so I think she was loaded, but you are right, she looks high in the water.

  • Probably loaded with coal. Not real dense stuff, so it'll fill her cargo holds to the brim without weighing her down too far into the water.

  • Looks like she's empty as it looks like she's sittin pretty high in the water. Might she be goig in for a load of iron ore?

  • Horay for Steam Tyfons, Great Catch!

  • Sure sounds weird on the steam. I still don't know what horn is on the Lift Bridge... It sure sounds like a Leslie Horn but only 2 tone.

  • Awesome!! It's the Charles M Beeghly, my favorite ship!

  • Honk! I am not a city boy, but Duluth is a neat city. Might take a trip up there sometime this fall when the leaves are turning colors. Enjoy the summer.

  • so is baltimore :p

  • You got yourself a rare recording there!

Capt. Joe Ruch is sounding the old Steam Tyfon Whistles. Those are being REMOVED in a few weeks. Beeghly is being converted to diesel from Steam. Nice! 5/5
