The 1990 Caprice was the Pinnacle with the square chiseled body and sharp lines that gave it a timeless feel, and a time when the tail lights got refreshed with a more modern look, the front headlights where not only the new composite headlights, but were also made out of glass so you would never have to worry about them fading. The GM ruined the Caprice as well as many other cars by making them look like bloaded chunks of plastic. God, I hated that organic shape fad of the 1990's!!!!!!!
The US Chevy Caprice did make a good police cruiser in its day, but looking at its specs for the day it was a shocker. GM Holden built their own Caprice from 1974 (the same crew that built the Pontiac G8) and the '91 Holden Caprice puts it to shame. 4 wheel discs, ABS, fully independent rear suspension, and a 230hp 5 litre V8. The '91 Chevy Caprice had standard axle, drum rear brakes, and 175hp 5 litre V8
@daved1974 a fucking peace of plastic cost 30.000 $ and last for two years . whats the point if you get a fucking small peace of plastic that run 260 m/hr and you the speed limit is 60 ? i rather have a big ole car rather then that car that cant brake . ( pirus )
i have a 91 caprice w/ the 305 it has about 220,000 and still running strong as ever its been my evryday driver for about a year and has never let me down even once, great car
now i gotta say back in 1966 When General Motors introduced Chevrolet Caprice they had Class when 1977 came around they restyled them I started to like Chevrolet Caprice when it was made in 1977-1990 when General Motors made Chevrolet caprice in the 1980s they had class i like the 80s caprice the in 90 they fucked the caprice real bad
Oh... I dunno from what I've seen in the history of auto commercials, in the 1980s is when they first started using front wheel drive as an advertising feature, around the same time they mentioned "fuel injection" in ads.
well fuel injection is better than carburetors but they just mensioned front wheel drive because it was the new thing. plus it does give you better traction.
you are probably talking about the impala. they sold the caprice here until 1996 and the impala was the same thing only more luxurious. and they still make the impala here.
no , i know impala in USA , but the caprice which i talk about is difrant .. the caprice is front wheel drive , the motor is LS2 .. 6.0 litter 400 HP ..
you can search about (CAPRICE 2007) in youtube or google images , then you will know what iam talking about .. good luck
@montysport94 actully the impala tirm was the sport trim for the caprice . in Saudi the lexrious ( for 94-96 ) trim was the LTZ ( i dont see an LTZ logo on 94-96 caprices in america )
these cars are realy good we drive alot of them in saudi arabia and we have a SPECIAL EDTION OF THE 95 / 96 caprice ! and we have an LTZ also on all the model cars from 91-96 not like amercia .. they have an LTZ option from 91-93 !
I too love chevy caprices a lot, they are just long lasting, beautiful old tanks :) They look even better with police badges, and lightbars and whatnot. LT-1 Caprices EASILY outgunned P71 crown vics.... but don't get me wrong, I love CV's as well. It's a shame GM axed the caprice, it was a real winner.... I plan to buy one someday.
1991 Chevy Caprice was much nicer than 2008 Hyundai Grandeur and Genesis. but why only government buy that nice full size? Well, I think that caprice is looks very nice

My grandpa had 2 Caprices when I was a kid- an '82 and a '91. Personally, I fail to see what anyone today *misses* about these things, when a gallon of regular unleaded costs almost $4. Aside from that, they handle like luxury ocean liners. I could never stand to ride in my grandparents' cars because every time they'd go around a sharp bend, I was frantically searching for something in the way of a barf bag.
Ahoy! I just bought one of the 1991 LTZ boats with the "custom wheels" LOL, and over the last month, I've found that the standard 5.0L v8 isn't such a gas hog. The 24mpg it gets bombing around town doesn't compare to my dad's hybrid (40mpg?!), but it's still fairly good, considering it's a 17 year old luxury liner! :D
I own an 86 caprice, and it has yet to fail me, granted I've had blown radiator hoses from age, belts wear out, and flat tires, but every time I go out and turn that key it always fires right up.
i own a 91. and it's in tip top shape. missing some badges but thats all! cars rides like a dream. when i first bought it i was thinking of selling it for a sports car. but these caprices have lots of juice more then i expected. with the comfort and stile of a cadi. and ive decided to keep mine.
I'd say the top 100. American cars from the late 70's through the early 00's were pretty bland and boring. (Exception of a few including the early 90's caprice). There are many cars from the 10's-50's that top the caprice as the best car ever made. I'd say Studebaker, Packard and Hudson are at the top along with the Model T and A, as well as the
'55, '56, and '57 Bel Airs. In general I think all cars built before 1959 were the best cars ever made.
i got a blue 1991 caprice classic blue leather interior motorised sets, compus
lights come on when its dark its a pretty nice car i love it. my moms got one and my granddads got one thats how much we love them. but theres are red.
Back when they started this moedel dat year, the Impala wasn't being produced, and hadn't hadn't been produced since 1985...In "94", the started making the Impala again dat looks a lot like these...Hate when they stopped makin these n "96", just like they did with the Rodamaster and the Cadillac Fleetwood Broughm back in 96....
These were one of the best cars chevy ever put out in recent times. I had two one was an 86 and an 88 Both got over 200,000 miles before i got rid of them. Unfortunately they were discontinued.
