It's heartbreaking to watch this. A Joora is one of the worst things you can do to your hair. Traction Alopecia is a very real form of hair loss that is caused by constant pulling/tension on hairs and is often seen in folks who have tight braids, dread locks, Joora knots, etc. The poor kid in this video is going to be half bald by 20.

im a 16 year old punjabi boy with a joora. been keeping it since i was 4. but now i have decided to cut it. im not here to discourage all the sikhs as i want them to keep on keeping their hair but it has gotten really hard for me. i play a lot of football and it is very hard to play with a joora. it always gets loose and interferes in my comfort in playing. also i have a huge fear of getting bald at the front when i grow up as all the sikh boys with joora grow bald eventually.

@TriptalkGuy I'm sorry my friend but the problem is not the joora, it is your attitude about the matter. People who have a joora don't go bald. I know many people who play football with a joora and have no problems, I myself am going to start football and I have a joora. Many sikhs died before cutting their hair, they have sacrificed so much, so don't take cutting your hair a light matter, it's very important

Hi all... I apologise to all my sikh brothers for the rubbish comments i wrote against this video and others on you tube. Please forgive me for what I have done. @Rohit84up It;s not unhygienic at all. We keep our hair because it's natural. If it keeps growing, it means your body is telling you NOT to cut it. We believe this body was given to us by God, and that we should not cut our hair as it gives us identity and it stays natural. It is not very time consuming at all, takes some people less then 5 minutes to tie a full dastar.

@difencrosby that just one way. if a peson takes care of his God given hair then all hair can be maintained under a turban. there are black sikhs u can ofcourse also ask them. for healthy hair u need a healthy lifestyle and have to take care of them every day
