  • The creator of this remix video did an amazing job with mixing such different cultures of music. There are the beattle wich are classic and should never be messed with and then there is Jay Z who is a bold representation of hip/hop rap in todays society. It was refreshing and creative seeing two generations brought together with a new remix song.

  • This is a very well done remix video that blends both the Beatle's white album and Jay-z's black album. The two songs are mixed together very well. It's also a very original idea.

  • Of course Ringo isn't going to be as good as the other Beatles, he was far too busy doing the narration for Thomas the Tank Engine, what a great show.

  • @TreGrande Ringo is the fucking man, and an incredible drummer. Ask anyone from Max Weinberg to Liberty Devitto. Plus Ringo and Keith Moon were best buddies. Ask any solid drummer - they'll credit Ringo.

  • I love Jay Z and The Beatles so when I heard of The Grey Album I was like FUCK YEAH

  • All hail Dangermouse.

    And Jay-Z.

And The Beatles.... well not you, Ringo.

  • @zerowhitestripes Ringo's a sick drummer. Screw that, man. The way he drummed even foreshadowed hip-hop. (Sgt. Pepper's Reprise is the obvious example off the top of my head)

And listen to his drumming in "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "A Day in the Life".

  • @TheOneartist His drumming is okay but song writing is complete shit. Octopus Garden and Don't Pass Me By (two songs he actually wrote, and need help on from George) both sucked terribly.

If you want a good drummer grab yourself Mr John Bohnam.

And listen to his drumming in every Led Zeppelin song. A real drummer has more than 2 songs to showcase his/her talent.

No major disrespect towards Ringo, but he undeniably gets a large amount of credit just because he was a Beatle!

  • @zerowhitestripes So what if he can't write songs? By the way, a majority, including me, would disagree with you about Octopus' Garden. I think that's a brilliant song. McCartney wrote similar songs himself.

John Bonham is one of the top and I'm definitely a fan of Led Zeppelin, but Ringo played different music. He was actually already a professional drummer before The Beatles, and that's why they wanted him in the band.

Those are a couple songs, but those aren't the only ones.

  • @zerowhitestripes I can't remember what famous musician's son got a drum lesson from Ringo, but I remember reading an interview. Also, if you take today's drummers, they nowhere near have the creativity that Ringo could have with his drumming. Depending on the song, you tell them to do Ringo's fills and they wouldn't know where to begin.

Ringo may not be John Bonham or Ginger Baker, but he does what he does best. Let it be.

  • @TheOneartist I think Octopus' Garden is laughably bad, and I believe a large amount of people would agree with that as well. Obviously Ringos not a terrible drummer, but when comparing him to the bass playing of McCartney, guitar playing of George Harrison or singing of Lennon, he's certainly the weakest link. Not to mention he's clearly the worst song writer. I just personally believe much of his respect comes from the fact he's a Beatle, and nothing he's really accomplished or done himself

  • @zerowhitestripes Ringo's All Star band back in the day was pretty good...?

  • wow, this sucks

  • @aegiswings FUCK YOU THIS IS AWESOME

  • Glass Onion & Encore!!! Classic

  • fuck jay-z

  • @TetrapakProdzekt fuck you

  • @TetrapakProdzekt yeah quit tripping son

  • lol cute idea XD

  • Enjoyed the concept and the tune wasn't bad Jay z can always deliver so you could mash that to most genre's why not another world wide platinum selling phenomena weather you liked them or not(the figures don't lie)probs could be better but the material is probs limited. So well done Mr dangermouse love the artistic idea.If they don't get it they probs wern't meant too.

  • i wish it was louder :/

  • WTF ROFL i want to barf my organs out watching John Lennon dance :-D

  • What the fuck just happened?

  • holdja up

  • how can they replace paul and george by 2 dumb girls who don't how to dance

  • nahhhh metallica black album wasnt bad at all, but matallica and the beatles wouldnt work well at all

  • @00chocolatethunder00

There is a band called Beatallica for the record. They're awful, in a very enjoyable way.

  • Is the Beatles song they mixed on this video even on the white album?

  • @applejuiceofepicness Yes the beatles song on this mix is on the white album the song is called Savoy Truffle

  • @JAG214

No. This is not Savoy Truffle, this is Glass Onion.

  • @californiarage it both Ringo Starr begins to drum to the 1:00 to 1:08 segment of "Glass Onion". John Lennon begins to sing while George Harrison and Paul McCartney nod their heads to the beat

As "Encore" moves into the second verse, the beat changes to a sample of "Savoy Truffle".

  • @californiarage It's Savoy Truffle at the end.

  • @jh4070 I couldn't agree more

  • also dont come a reply to my comment and say im a beatles hater THE BEATLES ARE THE GREATEST BAND OF ALL TIME dangermouse just made a scene from a hard day's night the movie and made even funnier and better

  • @GroddGuerrilla not all of the beatles died we still got paul and ringo! btw this vid is still beast even if u dont like Jay-Z Dangermouse are the Kings of mashups

  • lol, White people apparently don't like Jay-Z. Guess what, shit for brains: The Beatles are all, but dead. Move on and be happy your favorite bands are still relevent by means of reinvention into forms that are more edible for the audiences of today.

    Dangermous is the King.

  • I agree with those who despise this video and agree that whomever made this video should get slaughtered as well lol! You ruined the entire song which was a classic hit of all times. YUCK and SHAME on YOU! :(

  • OMG, this is horrible. Whoever is responsable for this should get fucking slaughtered. Theres a thin line between being creative and being an idiot. THIS SUCKS!!!

  • GARBAGE!

  • All this arguing about is this good? is this bad? is stupid! Just because u don't like something doesn't mean its bad, and just because u like it doesn't mean its good .....which is the brilliance about music because people can find something they like. Frankly anyone who claims to be a real "music buff" and is criticizing this is naive as they obviously cannot appreciate other genres outside the ones they die hardly follow ! i agree with leadfeet31 "just listen"

  • wow, quite rambling, you brainiacs, it's cool sounding, it's not cool sounding, just listen

  • Are people unaware that the Beatles were sampling back in the 60s?

  • The technician's face palm = Everyone's outrage in the comments.

The Beatles' facial expressions = Everyone that enjoyed this

  • as a Beatles fan, i say this shit sucks, pure bollucks, if Danger Mouse were a real artist he wouldn't have the need to sample, if the Beatles could do it without sampling why can't he? oh yeah cause he sucks

  • @protpus23 If Danger Mouse can do it wihthout spitting shit on youtube, why can't you?

  • @protpus23 have you ever tried sampling? and on top of that mixing songs? have you listened to the albums dangermouse produced?

  • @noutjie sampling is no art, its straight up stealing, and disrespectful to actual artist creating NEW and unique sounds which is what this generation lacks. Doing a cover would be a different story because they would have to RECREATE the sound and arrangement in their own style, a sample is the EXACT recording

  • @protpus23 you can create a new sound by combining existing sounds. this is also what people like brian wilson and Phil Spector did in terms of producing. I think that this generation has a lot of new sounds. Take for instance 'The Ecstatic' by Mos Def or 'The Archandroid' by Janelle Monae. In those times there were also a lot of bands with almost exactly the same sound/feeling.

  • @noutjie didn't brian wilson have a short career? im more a fan of George Martin, im aware new sounds can be made with existing but only sound, its spirit and enthusiasm is not there though, only sound, todays music is dead, im aware beatles have sampled, but not EXISTING music, they sampled ocean sounds and such, im not against that, only sampling existing music is wrong, listen to real music like TOOL, then you'll understand

  • @protpus23 I totally disagree with you but I don't want go further in this discussion

  • this video was fun & funny and made me laugh. very old school-style. loved it.

  • Comment removed

  • wow this is really bad.....too bad you people will listen to whatever shit is avail....go on and thumbs me down.....its the friggin truth.

  • This "song" just proves that hip-hop artists are unoriginal. You can all thank music butchers like Dangermouse for giving hip-hop a bad name.

  • @mindfreakloyal92 a music butcher? do you mean the same dangermouse that has produced critically acclaimed albums for gnarls barkley, gorillaz and broken bells? learn about the things you speak on before you open your mouth and make yourself look stupid. ignorance is an extremely negative trait.

  • @padster Yes, I knew that. In my opinion Gnarls Barkley, Gorillaz and Broken Bells all suck. Its sad this man had to use The Beatles to make him look good. I'm happy EMI sued the crap out of him. Oh and before you say I'm making my self look stupid, make sure you at least capitalize the first letter of the word after a period. Also capitalize names. (:

  • @mindfreakloyal92 well i think it's clear to everyone who looks stupid here. thanks for further proving my point, enjoy listening exclusively to copyrighted music and completely foregoing anything which attempts to use familiar sounds to create new pieces of art

  • Ringo was a better DJ than drummer, clearly. He's 'rockin' the plastic like a man from the Catskills'.

  • Who are Ramon and Pedro, and why do they not not claim ownership of material about to be seen?

  • 2:23 illuminati

  • i just bought this album at a goodwill. i was like who would get rid of this?

  • @eatsrappers congratulations

  • it's amazing how two very differnt styles of music...can be blended to sound so amazing.

  • This guy essentially made all of these mashups and this music video in his garage. Let's face it; that's some damn good talent.

  • you got it take with humor.. looks more like a parody than a sample mix .. it`s olny a home made video.. nothing to get mad or upset.. and at the same time nothing to be proud..bout it

  • Only a handful of producers are auspicious enough to attempt this and even fewer are talented enough to do it properly the people who could do both would be your RZAs, your J Dillas, your Dr Dres, and obviously Danger Mouse.

  • @BigJC721 Nope, this is fail

Jay-Z and Danger Mouse areway inferior to The Beatles

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @Herringish I agree WAY inferior.

  • @Herringish thats an opinion you do know that right?

  • @WREQUIEM

    no thats a bloody fact

  • @WREQUIEM It's a downright fact, son

  • @Herringish NOOOPE

  • I love Danger Mouse right now

  • I love this video! ^_^

  • this was a nice mix but damn man... couldnt it have been some besides Jay-Z? a lot of better rappers out there. oh well its done with and i doubt anyone else will attempt a Beatles mix.

  • @DarkKnight2k6 black album=jay-z white album=beatles

  • Hip Rock maybe?

  • Funny when Ringo becomes a DJ--and "Lennon" dancing! Nice job!

  • There is one question.

What is this genre? Is it a nerd core?

  • @ashiwaraouji Just a blend of classic rock and hip hop

    Call it what you want

  • ringo was the real 'king mixer'

  • I don't like rap. And I guess some people can find this insulting. I find it the greatest thing ever.

  • I'm not even a fan of rap by any means, but I really like The Grey Album. I got into Danger Mouse's work after he collaborated with Sparklehorse and Julian Casablancas (of The Strokes). This video was done really well. Kinda reminds me of what Spike Jonze pulled with Weezer's vid for "Buddy Holly."

  • Um the Beatles' White Album has no real presence in this video. This is all Beatles coming to America early 60s style. The White Album was well after all of this hysteria.

  • @lissak27 except the song being used here is Glass Onion, which of course, came from The White Album

  • The body type was more of a Harrison than of lennon

  • i loved this

  • abit rubbish like

  • tssssssssssssss!!

    no mames que video!!

  • they killed it once John Lennon starting dancing. should've made it look more like him, and they would have pullled it off.

  • @NoMansLandProduction i think it was a joke dude

  • Only the Beatles publicity machine could make a ghetto star want to mash-up with such sterile whitebread music.

  • I would love just the beatles background to this...

  • 1:32 Ringo goes all MC! This is freaking legit. haha

  • @t3amtomahawk DJ... hahaha

  • what about metallica's black album?

  • @katskratchkustumz

Metallica's Black Album sucked shit, thats what happened

  • @Rivethead92 Err, no it didn't

  • @Rivethead92 Fuck you. This shit ain't even music

  • had to ruin classic music too?

  • @brian062895 What do you mean? danger mouse is epic he did Demon days one of the best albums of the naughties.

  • @brian062895 What?

  • @Webbula i dont like jay z's work, i was looking up the beatles when this came up. and mixing generes just dosent work. no offense though

  • @brian062895

Mixing genres doesn't work? You kidding me? Pay more attention to the music you listen to and tell me it's limited to only one possible genre. Creativity and inspiration don't have to be limited by a closed mind.

  • @MrFLATHOON i dont like just one genere. it just dosent sound good mixed up.

  • @brian062895 I think you might find it interesting you evolve music by; in fact, mixing genras.

  • video is as great as the album :)

  • CLEVER

  • saw this on a documentary

  • the video is sick until 1:59then it just get's lame.

  • cool

annoying that they flt the need to have the audience screaming all the way through the song though

  • So good.

  • So good.

  • Sick......

  • Now im disappointed that when I saw Ringo he didnt whip out a turntable.

  • this was the least entertaining thing i've ever watched. The song was so boring and repetitive and the video editing was incredibly fake-looking. wow just terrible

  • The way he used 'Savoy Truffle' has got to be commended.

Would love to hear how he would use 'Lovely Rita' + 'Not Guilty'

  • Did Dangermouse get his name from the cartoon character?

    'Shush Penfold'

  • lol this was hilarious great vid but i do wish the grey album had an instrumental version

  • o_O

  • My favorite Rapper mixed with my favorite band in the world...it is not an insult but a true testament to how great these two acts are.

  • @SlowRiotNewKanada

    then you have no taste

  • @negima1276 Taste is relative. What you like doesn't have to mesh with what others like. What you dislike doesn't have to mesh with what others dislike. Your narrow mindedness is more pathetic than someone saying they don't like The Beatles.

  • the beatles are my favorite band, and i respectfully agree to your comment. this album is the only reason i have ever listened to a jay z song. i like the original versions of his songs now. i also like the mashup he did with linkin park. thats what music does, it expands our horizons, not as much as 'shrooms and herb, but its up there.

  • i like how 'john lennon' starts breakdancing lol

  • That was a piece of shit

  • @Beatleboylevi The video wasn't that great, I agree, but the Grey Album is very well done as a musical experiment and production.

  • I am so glad that I downloaded the Grey Album when it was released online a few yrs ago. It is a masterpiece!

    This video is cute. haha

  • if only they repeated the oh yeah that many times during glass onion

  • hahaha i just saw this movie today

  • this was awesome, i wish they would have lowered the volume of the screaming girls though, it got kind of annoying after a while...

  • Jay-Z has created some of the least listenable and most mainstream rap in history.

And this is so well mixed it makes is a masterpiece.

Time to stop treating Dangermouse like an enemy to the record labels and as a friend to music.

  • @meemeesiko57 Unlistenable and mainstream don't mesh. If it is mainstream, that generally means it's very listenable. The connoisseurs might grimace, but the average listener will find it easy on the ears. Whether it's breaking new ground, pushing boundaries, or opening new doors is what is actually in question.

  • @antiaverage1

It all depends on one's pdefinition of "mainstream" and "original."

I would say that Jay-Z is one of the defining artists of mainstream rap. However, I would also say that Mainstream rap and hip-hop are next to unlistenable. Underground is much more innovative and actually has something to say. There are many old-school artists that made Rap an excellent genre, but Jay-Z kind of helped kill (by overuse) those sounds.

When his music is introduced like this, it's excellent.

  • @meemeesiko57 Yeah, I completely agree with you. I find mainstream to be synonymous with unlistenable /for me/. That said, most people have the opposite feeling.

I'd much rather listen to Edan or Aesop Rock than Jay-Z.

  • ohh my godd dangermouse is incrediblee

  • @paulldurell So TripTones can text me to no fucking end with damn subscriptions no?

  • This piece is fantastic! I just don't understand why I didn't hear it before. The upload date says 2006 !!!

  • @saulius0317 Its illegal thats why...

Danger Mouse took Jay-Z's Black Album's acapella and mixed it over The Bealtes... pure classic... but he got sued!!!! You gotta love danger's heart for trying this!

  • @djredrum26 He didn't get sued, just had his albums taken away and received a cease-and-desist notice. No one actually got sued over this.

The a-cappella from Jay-Z was 100% legal, it was The Beatles samples that caused the issues.

  • LOL Go Lennon :P

  • @il927 I'm of the inverse opinion.

  • Pure genius! Plain and simple

  • this is jus proof of jay z's brilliance the guy's flow can glide on any track of any genre

  • nope, dj dangermouse is just a great dj who knows how to mix songs beautifully

  • Agreed. I'm not a big Jay Z fan, but I love the Beatles, and Danger Mouse has done an amazing job. It's just great to listen to.

  • sooooooo cool

  • Glass Onion!.. ja ja !

  • Hmmm...I guess it's because I'm not that into rap, and much less Jay-Z, I just don't like it. I really do like the Beatles though. I'm sort of obsessed with them, a little bit. :]

I don't have anything against Jay-Z, I just never really liked rap is all. I only listened to one rapper, and it wasn't Jay-Z. I'm probably going to anger a lot of people, but I didn't like it all that much. Sorry.

Must say: VERY GOOD EDITING!! I could not do that. Thumbs up for that.

  • @topjohnnydeppfan No worries. Different people like different things. You're not required to like everything you listen to ;) All that matters is that you give everything a chance.

  • This is so awesome and I only just found out about it. Obviously I've been living in a box,

  • @bunnyofdoomo I think that's an unfair statement. Everyone always picks on Ringo

  • ..it's a joke dude.

  • nobody popped and locked like lennon.

  • @reh629 He does know how to get popped... To soon?

  • lol i just got done watching a hard days night and thats were they got this from

  • great editing

  • For the extremely nerdy, the record Ringo puts on the turntable is The Blackbyrds - City Life.

  • awesome mashup, the entire Grey Album is sick
