Thanks man for the clipp. I was watching a bounch of videos from other on doing videos. Most of them very advanced, but you sir nailed down quite a few very practical and good advice. Thanks from Sweden ;-)
@laklodg With that YouTube handle I'd say you're very rich. You certainly must be related to Donald Trump. His nickname, I believe, is LakLo. Plus, I'm fairly certain he and his family didn't do well in English class. Punctuation is not Donald's strong point - selling and leasing real estate is. Do you happen to do that for a living? :->>>>>>

@AsktheBuilder Windows Movie Maker is apparently the equivalent for windows Computers. If you want something more professional but still free, you might need to check out: Lightworks... amazing video this is my first time on youtube but i have some videos of games i play like combat arms my video names are shotgunning on combat arms, so thanks a lot :D.
Nice explanation I love this video and yes I understand that this video is 240p because it was like filmed in 2006 I know what kind of quality they had back then thanks for the vid :D
@NinjightNationCorp Thanks! This video was made in 2006 I believe. At that time the file size you could upload to YouTube was SMALL and this was a long video. So the quality had to suffer. Plus, HD cameras back then were in the tens of thousands of dollars. Prosumer HD cameras were just starting to hit the market. Yes, some people are far too critical.
@AsktheBuilder I bought a 1080i HD camera but i'm really regretting not buying a 1080p camera. Is there much difference? Also, i went through all the settings within the camera and none of them seem to make much of a difference...is there any particular setting for the best HD quality?
Great i loved it. Informative and entertaining/funny. Okay it could of been in HD so what if isn't the info is the most important bit. You packed a lot in this video 10/10
The part where he talks about making smaller videos inside a larger one to make it more engaging. How exactly do you do that? Please i need help and i want to start making videos soon, but i want them to have smaller clips like he says. Please help.
if only all youtube videos were done this intelligently. I can only imagine all the time i would save watching numb nuts doing videos."raises hand" yes I am one of those numb nuts currently lol im watching this video thanks for posting.
@hardik20111 Indeed it is. It was taped five years ago. Go back and see what the size limits were back then for YouTube. It's a long video and because of their size limitations on files, this was all the bigger we could make it. I'm sure you realize that if you put a new HD version up, I loose all views - the counter goes back to zero - and all comments are erased. Thanks for you helpful comment.
@AsktheBuilder . I am really sorry, I did not realise that. I admit, I deserve a dislike, but honestly. Yes, honestly, it was helpful. Specially the tripod part.
@chongi19 Thanks. Did you see when the video was uploaded? Over four years ago. Do you know what the quality guidelines for uploading to YouTube were at that time? I'll tell you, no HD and we uploaded just about the largest size we could at the time. Be aware that if you overwrite this video now with the original at higher resolution, the Views drop to Zero and all comments are erased. So I'm stuck with this video on YT forever.
i just want to know how to make a video like, when you draw a fox, you can put movements and you can put them in a whole video and cut-out videos witch you can double and put on the screen can you help me with that?
Nice job on this video Tim. Full of info I Have Ideas but I do forget This part of making movie videos going to save this. I have a hard time getting people to play parts or to colab in a project. I am using Imovie Too.
Holy shit we have a lot of professionals in the comments here today. You didn't pay him to make this video neither were you made to watch. So shut up and take it for what it is. I appreciated the video thanks for making it man.
@ri0la212 That's correct. I can't remember if in the video that I mention I was professionally trained to do video by some of the top people at the ABC and NBC affiliates in Cincinnati, OH. Oh, and for what it's worth, your sarcastic comment is in a very tiny minority. Take some time to read the other comments from those who appreciate the tips. Perhaps you can use some of them to help you make your "How to Play this Video Game" videos that you're doing on your channel.
@AsktheBuilder I dont recall having to use high quality lighting, a decent camera and a tripod to record directly off my screen, but hey, if thats what we all need to do...
@ri0la212 You just don't get it...... Heavy Sigh...... We'll let the Court of Public Opinion weigh in on your comments. Remember, life's full of decisions - make great ones.
this was the kind of video i was looking for. to be honest, this was probebly the first out of 100 videos i have watched in my life on how to make a good video that actually got the answers to my question. thanks!
Great tips: Some people just miss the important ones or don't take them in. If that's you, then watch it several times. These tips are for FREE. I've done my own video's and believe me its tougher than you think, especially if you don't want to look like a goofball.
For something you made three years ago these are some very good points. I'm in the process of creating a new youtube account (This one) and starting some new videos. I've made some videos before but they all lacked...interest, and these are some really, really useful tips to work with. Hopefully I can make something I'll be happy with soon and put it up. ^.^ Thanks Tim.
@maibahaiba Thanks! But you have no room to criticize. I went to your channel and you don't have one video uploaded that you did telling jokes. Talk about lame...... Jeeesh. Did you think we wouldn't check?
@AsktheBuilder Usually video, the person making the video appreciates their comments, and learn from them, obviously, you don't. You really don't deserve your views and comments if you don't appreciate them. You don't need to go out and buy a billion dollar camera, tripod, and lighting to make a video. You can make good videos without spending a lot of money.
@CrashVideoProdctions I simply don't know what to say. I'll start by mentioning I never said spend a billion dollars. Well let the Court of Public Opinion weigh in on your comment - especially after they go to your channel to see what you've done. Finally, I have a crystal clear Comment Policy at the home page of this channel. I allowed yours because it's a great example of the old saying: Actions speak louder than words.
@AsktheBuilder First off, thank you for replying! I also appreciate you making this video, It was actually very helpful! I understand that to make the best video, you need the best equipment. And a billion dollars was a little bit of an exaggeration. Thank you for taking time to help others and using your skills to help people! I apologize for being rude. -CrashVideoProdctions. Also, just in case you were wondering, i'm not an idiot, (most times) my name is that way cause' of max chars.
Do you have any tips for how to liven up your speach? I sound really dull and monotonous on my videos and really want to try and liven myself up a bit! I will definitely be taking on board all that you said in this video too, some really great advice in there!
Um,dude, making a video is not this hard. JEEZ! All you have to do is get some minor lighting, microphones and any camera. MAYBE a tripod. I've made a video before(I admit it kinda failed) but it was easy and would have worked if I had wanted to post it.
This has to be the funniest comment I've read in months. You start telling the world how easy it is, and you end saying you failed. I can't stop laughing. Did you read your comment before hitting the Post Comment button? :->>>>>>>
I like the idea of the wireless microphone but could you explain how you connect to the camera's audio in jack ?
And just a comment on the camera - it wouldn't matter what someone was using, there is always something newer/better on the shelves the day after you buy what you have ;-)
I wouldn't say you offended me, but your comment was of little value. I only published it and responded, because I felt that all should know at the time, the camera used was almost a pro model. In addition, the *quality* of what you're seeing is horrible to what you see now on YouTube. I now upload all my work in HD. That was not permitted in 2005.
This video was made nearly 5 years ago long before HD was affordable. What's more, it was loaded onto YouTube when the resolution standards were much LOWER. Back in the old days of YouTube, there were severe restrictions as to file size. The longer your video - and this was just about as long as they allowed - the worse the resolution so that you could keep the file under their maximum limit. The camera used was the one shown and at the time it cost close to $1,000.
@AsktheBuilder What about to download from somewhere? I have an Acer and I cant find anything of the like on it. It doesn't even need to be very fancy or anything....
Tim, I liked your vid and favor-ed! But why don't you put in hot link in to your description, so, that your viewers can just click on to go straight to your website?!!
This reminds me of that smosh video "the internet master" lol

Do you have any tips for how to liven up your speach? I sound really dull and monotonous on my videos and really want to try and liven myself up a bit! I will definitely be taking on board all that you said in this video too, some really great advice in there!

@RetroRepair Get excited about the topic. Drink four cups of coffee before taping.

Um,dude, making a video is not this hard. JEEZ! All you have to do is get some minor lighting, microphones and any camera. MAYBE a tripod. I've made a video before(I admit it kinda failed) but it was easy and would have worked if I had wanted to post it.
Alphawolf248 2 years ago
This has to be the funniest comment I've read in months. You start telling the world how easy it is, and you end saying you failed. I can't stop laughing. Did you read your comment before hitting the Post Comment button? :->>>>>>>

@AsktheBuilder Muahaha I'm laughing hard too! He or she didn't mean it in a bad way but it came out so funny!

Uh, pardon me..... You must have that backwards. NOTHING in this video was copied from any other video.

G'Day Tim,
I like the idea of the wireless microphone but could you explain how you connect to the camera's audio in jack ?
And just a comment on the camera - it wouldn't matter what someone was using, there is always something newer/better on the shelves the day after you buy what you have ;-)

Lol ok I see. Didnt mean to offend you.
DoubleJReviewStudio 2 years ago
I wouldn't say you offended me, but your comment was of little value. I only published it and responded, because I felt that all should know at the time, the camera used was almost a pro model. In addition, the *quality* of what you're seeing is horrible to what you see now on YouTube. I now upload all my work in HD. That was not permitted in 2005.
AsktheBuilder 2 years ago
I hope he didnt make that video with that "pro camera" Lol the quality is pretty bad.
DoubleJReviewStudio 2 years ago
This video was made nearly 5 years ago long before HD was affordable. What's more, it was loaded onto YouTube when the resolution standards were much LOWER. Back in the old days of YouTube, there were severe restrictions as to file size. The longer your video - and this was just about as long as they allowed - the worse the resolution so that you could keep the file under their maximum limit. The camera used was the one shown and at the time it cost close to $1,000.
