  • Hands are way too small but other than that very impressive

  • watch?v=Ow3BwgwZgqg&feature=related

  • thats AWESOME! But if i were locked in a room with it, id cry

  • less material effect, you should need some material tutorial.

  • lol

  • Very very nice! Can i barrow it for a sketch??

  • What is it you want to borrow? Some pics?

  • @rmacyn How does his head lift completely up and down without the pistons bending? What connects the piston to the back of his head?

  • @rmacyn How far can his head lift?

  • terminator is da shit! this model is ballin keep up the good work (-_-)=b

  • OMFG AWESOME!

  • wat program did you use?? 3d max and after effects in combo??

  • All done in Maya

  • i'm trying this 3d max and i'm finding the rotation controls to be very ... unsophisticated..

  • Yeah, I used MAX years ago... found that Maya was a better overall package.

  • DETAILS!!!!

    WOW!!!

  • really stunning amount of detail, very impressive!!!!!

  • where did you get your reference for the front, side and back even top maybe?

  • Hey, I can give you my references if you want, I know how hard they are to find.

  • could i get the reference to please, im planning on modeling myself a terminator!

  • Sure do you have XFire?

  • Not sure you've rigged it properly, when the arms go up you've got a couple of pistons from the chest moving too, but I think those only move with the shoulders themselves, like to shrug. The model is excellent though.

  • its ment to

  • Well, if it is meant to, then he needs to fix the hydraulic cord things; they're supposed to attach to the shoulder but his just disconnects an floats in place when the shoulder rotates.

  • Good call guys... at some point I will fix this!

  • good work dude u should make a movie with that skills

  • Yeah true, although I'm afraid there's already been an entire franchise created with that kind of skills. It's called Terminator.

  • hey where did you got that model?

  • wow nice work dude !!!!!!!!!!!

  • OK a little creeepy when he opens his mouth

  • I am creating a model just like this one. Except i'm using a free program called sketchup.

They say it cannot be done, such a complex model using such a simple program.

I have completed 4 fingers and part of the forearm in about 6 or so hours on and off.

    701666 edges and 344034 polygons.

The file size itself is a massive 56mb, and thats onyl for 4 fingers!

It's not a crappy model either, it has rounded edges which are softened to look better when rendering.

    Really time consuming.

  • this model at one point had 8 million polygons. Rendertime for this animation was 7 hours on my rendering farm. I used a new Network Rendering app ... SquidNet-NDP, nice app, but still lacks good documentation. You might want to checkit our for your renders.

  • Thankyou for the advice.

Did you say rendering time was 7 hours!!!

    And 8 million polygons OMG!

    What's your computer specs btw?

  • @ 0:00

    He looks so happy! Daaaaaaaaw.

  • I LOVE THAT TERMINATOR MUSIC!

  • That was amazing!! I demand more vids!!!!! ^_^

  • Awesome Job!!! Very inspiring. How long did it take to model?and what did you use for the texture,What shader? Did you UV unwrap the whole model too before texturing? Thanks.

  • This model tool me about 2 months to model (off and on) has almost 4 million polygons. I just a standard chrome shader for all the parts that are supposed to be metallic.

  • That is very nice dude very nice. Could you direct me in the right direction in rigging a model for animation and also what 3D program did you use for this?

  • I used Maya for the modeling, animation and rigging. It takes time, but you could learn to do all this yourself (I did). There's hundreds of tutorials/videos on the net that shows you how to use most animation packages .... just be patient and take your time !

  • Hey man I'm having trouble finding tutorials for this. Can you post or send me the link you used for yours or a link to any tutorials on it please?

  • Very nice!!
