I came back and watching this video because I just watched another Idol singing this ATB. What a difference!!!!! I don't have to mention the name. David A's voice was soaring and had a climax not monotone at all. He was confident and knew when to emphasized the words. He never disappointed the audiences. He also sang the National Anthem (SSB) gorgeously not overdoing it like the way Christina A. did it, which made me so tired watching her performed SSB.

I enjoyed David singing in ALMA Awards show on ABC channel. Unlike Fox's tca award show, ALMA and ABC honored David with respectful announcement with a tribute for his accomplishments. Thanks to ALMA and ABC.

Raythespian...take another hit from the crack pipe. His phrasing is lovely. It is totally in synch with his style of building emotion and creating anticipation of what's next as the song progresses. His doing pauses and leaving you hanging and anticipating within a word is a clear choice. He does it well. Think outside of the box.

I think it is up to the people who put on the various events who and what type of entertainment they want for the event. I don't think we have any way of knowing how often requests to sing are submitted to singers, etc. I doubt that David's management company, Azoff would talk about it (even though it would be fun to know for us!)

Icgrag..The marines did do a wonderful job. The thing about David Archuleta is that when he was given the honor to sing this song, he spent time reflecting on its true meaning and the sacrifices that has been made for our freedom. He did not take this privilege lightly. The smile on his face when the marines came out showed that he was very much aware how important their presence was. When David sings, he wants his singing to touch the souls of those present. He is a fine young man.
