How did you get streets of rage 2 and the genesis 6-pack to work? i recently bought those games and they say they are incompatible with my genesis (i have an fc3) please help

Even if only 75 percent of Nes, Snes, and Genesis games work I think that its one hell of a buy (Retron 3 cause it has controller ports). I mean you should have the original consoles anyways but if anything ever happens to them you have a cheap and afordable back up plan PLUS nintendo games are just hard to get working unless you buy a nes thats never been touched for over 20 years.
Was wondering the same thing. Other consoles struggle as some cartridges perform a 50/60hz check on boot, so those games that do will not load on a 60hz machine like this.

I don't know much about the Retron 3. I would highly suggest the Retro Duo over any other clone. It plays Super Famicom games and European PAL region games as well as having the best compatibility.

The button mappings are all wrong! All of those games tested and you never noticed the controls in all of them are wrong?
The Nova bomb is the A button in StarFox, not the Y button that you pressed. All of the buttons are back to front and mirror imaged. A BIG no no for snes games.
One more thing, but why wasn't import games on SNES and Genesis tested, why was import passthrough carts tested, why wasn't Virtua Racing tested, why wasn't Street Fighter Alpha 2 tested, why wasn't SNES Doom tested, why was Zero Tolerance tested? I've just listed the carts that will TAX the FC 3 the most in everything. And I'll you all in on a secret: the FC 3 plays PAL games in NTSC just fine, so go crazy. (Remove SNES tabs, though.)
Something I discovered with Yobo's cloneware is some games work in some systems and others don't. An example is NES Battletoads, which works in my FC Twin but not everybody else's. Another is SNES Street Fighter Alpha 2, which again, works in my FC Twin, but nothing else. SNES Doom is another, so forth and so on. I wonder if Yobo's stuff is made by slaves of the regime of Red China and they make it by hand.
I was interested in this till I read that it doesn't support other controllers just the other ones. Not to sound snobby but I need the original controllers that's part of the charm of playing the original game, otherwise why bother?
Just showing title screens actually proves nothing, so this video isn't that great. If you've ever watched the development of emulators, you will know that a game can show the title screen and still not play properly.
it would need the 32X adapter i think.. no genesis could do it stock.. had to use the adapter and the clips... but i dont know if the 32X will fit in it
32X only works on actual Genesis hardware (for now). The reason is that the 32X has to pass-through and then overlay a place of video and audio over the original Genesis video and audio computations. This is achieved via a special wittle cable that comes with the 32X that has Sega's special A/V plug on it for Genesis. If you have a Genesis 1988 model, that wittle cable also needs another wittle cable to adapt it to the older model. Without that wittle cable or cables, there's no way to use it.
This does play Tengen NES carts, but I feel that the graphics that it displays aren't quite right (missing pixels). Also the colors are super saturated, and can only be adjusted by adjusting your TV/output screen.
Genesis games also don't work well on this system (can not be played). The controller reflects the SNES/SEGA style, but doesn't function at all (buttons not mapped properly for either system).

This guy also changes games too fast. The title screen on some games may work, but the actual game may not. Case in point: Battletoads. This game stalls on level 2 on EVERY clone console so far. This moron puts the game in for five seconds and says "LOL WORKS".

I was wondering about that, or it he's not aware how the lock-on cart works. Since he had Sonic 3 inserted, the title screen should've been Sonic 3's title with screen with "& Knuckles" appear at the very bottom under the Sonic logo. The biggest issue with this console is the controller. It feels like you are holding empty plastic, and the cord is about 4 feet long, really frustrating. Also, my power button gets stuck really easily, but I assume that's just bad luck. It runs fine, and is worth the cost if you have a lot of games you'd like to play.

If you just want NES and SNES, the Retro Duo is probably the best option. Check flea markets, thrift stores, and Craigslist ads for your area. You might come across the original systems for a good price.
I just got a FC3 Plus a couple weeks ago. I've noticed a few oddities.
1. Genesis has very low contrast on some tv's.
2. NES video does not work on my Dell computer monitor.
3. NES video for me looks TERRIBLE. Very thick scanlines, blured sprites, the color is too saturated and blurry. The games are playable, but look pretty bad. I found if I turn the sharpness up to the max, and color down to like 10%, then it almost looks ok, but the sprites are still blurry.
the proprietary controllers also means no multiplayer adapters... and no games that use special controllers (only the proprietary Zapper for NES gun games)
well im not completly sure japanese nes (famicon) games can be played in the fc3 with out a converter, but super famicom games definatly work, you need to modify the fc3 but its a no brainer mod, though just open up the system and there are 2 plastic pins, to get those 2 plastic pins out you could used a little bit of sanding or pilers
ok i got allot or half of my nes collection as a gift, contains rares as final fantasy and dragon warrior ,and other's etc. so i got it as a gift, the guy i know who gave it to me said the last time he played mega man 6 it worked, i want to take the cartridge apart to check the innards just in case yet, i have never played it on a real nes myself. i hope it's the fc3 and not the cartridge but the cartridge may be damaged or dirty inside. i checked the connector's the fine and dandy though.

I JUST bought one, And yeah, It does work, but on the NES slot, It makes a pretty good volumed Buzzing noise, and on the super NES a more high pitched buzzing but not loud or anything. Is that common? Or should I just replace it and get another one?

Ya the sonic 3 and knuckles title screen is the same as the Sonic 3 title screen but shows the & Knuckles under Sonic 3 on the title screen....so in other words, what he showed didn't work.

I'm sorry, but Sonic 3 + Sonic and Knuckles DIDN'T WORKED. The title screen and the first stage were the same of the normal Sonic and Knuckles game without the Sonic 3 cartridge.
Well, turns out they have either a copy of Sonic 3 that has dirty contacts or is broken, or the cart slot on the Sonick & Knuckles cart is dirty. I have S&K and all the lock on games work on my FC3.
HEADS UP - MAJOR GENESIS COMPATIBILITY INFORMATION! This is WORSE than the GN Twin! If anyone is looking to play Virtua Racing on the unit, DON'T GET IT! The FC3 Plus DOES NOT work with Virtua Racing! It also doesn't work with Sega Master System converters unlike the GN Twin, which in turn, also means that the 32X won't even boot(it does boot on the GN Twin even though there's no plug for the patch cable). It's what Majesco did with the Genesis 3 all over again!
But, it DOES have kickass sound which is WAY better than the GN Twin....so it will do for me! (I have a dual setup BTW, an FC Twin for NES/SNES games and the FC3 for Genesis games)
That's the only thing it does better than the GN Twin(aside from the inclusion of a Super NES). Still not worth it for me to ditch my FC Twin and GN Twin.

I wish this system was around when I was a kid. It sure would've ended this huge Sega Vs. Nintendo war I used to have with a friend back in elementary school. I love that this thing plays Sega, Nintendo, and Super NES games. I already have about 90 Genesis games and I've been thinking about starting a Nintendo collection for a while. This system would be perfect for me. Maybe when I grab a little more money at work, I'll be able to afford this awesome looking system.

The other thing is, what controllers DO work on this system besides the ones that come with it? Can you buy additional Yobo type controllers if these break?
I only know that the GN Twin controllers work without any modifications because they use the same plug. You COULD use the controllers that come with the original 60-pin version of the Yobo FC Game Console(or any other Famiclone that uses 9-pin controller ports, for that matter, just cut the plug so it fits). You can also take any (Super) NES controller and swap the cables around with that of the FC3.
And one thing - has ANYONE tested this unit with Virtua Racing? Does it work on the FC3 Plus?
Apparently, their copy of either S&K or Sonic 3 was bad as I have an FC3, and also have all the Sonic games. I have personally tested the S&K lock on games, and all do work on my FC3.
on the fc duo you can use snes controllers, thats good to know. and i dont have any genesis games so i think ill get the duo, its a little cheaper and games were better on snes than genesis anyways.
It would be nice if they could just give the system 3 sets of controller ports so that the old controllers can be used. Or allow Adapters to be used to fit the old controllers to this system or something.
Sure, have it come with it's own controllers that work with all of the games on some level so that people have something to use, but give us the option to use the originals. Once they do that, then it will truely be the ultimate retro system.

im looking into buying one of these consoles that play nes and snes, genesis dosent intrest me all that much but i was wondering if someone could tell me which would be the best system to buy because im not all that sure whats on the market and what works the best. so if you could let me know it would be a great help, thanks.

If you just want NES and SNES, the Retro Duo is probably the best option. Check flea markets, thrift stores, and Craigslist ads for your area. You might come across the original systems for a good price.

I just got a FC3 Plus a couple weeks ago. I've noticed a few oddities.
1. Genesis has very low contrast on some tv's.
2. NES video does not work on my Dell computer monitor.
3. NES video for me looks TERRIBLE. Very thick scanlines, blured sprites, the color is too saturated and blurry. The games are playable, but look pretty bad. I found if I turn the sharpness up to the max, and color down to like 10%, then it almost looks ok, but the sprites are still blurry.

The video doesn't show up at all. The other 2 systems are fine, but when I turn it over to NES, nothing shows up. the audio works, but no video.

the proprietary controllers also means no multiplayer adapters... and no games that use special controllers (only the proprietary Zapper for NES gun games)

well im not completly sure japanese nes (famicon) games can be played in the fc3 with out a converter, but super famicom games definatly work, you need to modify the fc3 but its a no brainer mod, though just open up the system and there are 2 plastic pins, to get those 2 plastic pins out you could used a little bit of sanding or pilers

ok i got allot or half of my nes collection as a gift, contains rares as final fantasy and dragon warrior ,and other's etc. so i got it as a gift, the guy i know who gave it to me said the last time he played mega man 6 it worked, i want to take the cartridge apart to check the innards just in case yet, i have never played it on a real nes myself. i hope it's the fc3 and not the cartridge but the cartridge may be damaged or dirty inside. i checked the connector's the fine and dandy though.

Thorgrim103, if your saying the controllers on the fc3 are crappy then your right one of my controllers a button keeps staying stuck and ive got the fc3 a week ago, i wish they would release the controllers for sale or sell converter plugs to plug the snes controller in to the fc3 because i dont fell like modding my controller

i know, right? the only reason i bought this system is because it plays 3 differnt systems thats the only good thing because if the systems sold around there original price then i would have to have those all at once is $600 for all those separatelywhile this system costs $80

I JUST bought one, And yeah, It does work, but on the NES slot, It makes a pretty good volumed Buzzing noise, and on the super NES a more high pitched buzzing but not loud or anything. Is that common? Or should I just replace it and get another one?

Ya the sonic 3 and knuckles title screen is the same as the Sonic 3 title screen but shows the & Knuckles under Sonic 3 on the title screen....so in other words, what he showed didn't work.

I'm sorry, but Sonic 3 + Sonic and Knuckles DIDN'T WORKED. The title screen and the first stage were the same of the normal Sonic and Knuckles game without the Sonic 3 cartridge.

Well, turns out they have either a copy of Sonic 3 that has dirty contacts or is broken, or the cart slot on the Sonick & Knuckles cart is dirty. I have S&K and all the lock on games work on my FC3.

HEADS UP - MAJOR GENESIS COMPATIBILITY INFORMATION! This is WORSE than the GN Twin! If anyone is looking to play Virtua Racing on the unit, DON'T GET IT! The FC3 Plus DOES NOT work with Virtua Racing! It also doesn't work with Sega Master System converters unlike the GN Twin, which in turn, also means that the 32X won't even boot(it does boot on the GN Twin even though there's no plug for the patch cable). It's what Majesco did with the Genesis 3 all over again!

But, it DOES have kickass sound which is WAY better than the GN Twin....so it will do for me! (I have a dual setup BTW, an FC Twin for NES/SNES games and the FC3 for Genesis games)

That's the only thing it does better than the GN Twin(aside from the inclusion of a Super NES). Still not worth it for me to ditch my FC Twin and GN Twin.

BTW, I also love that you showed the FC3 playing the Super Game Boy. I may have to pick one of those up if I get this system so I can play Pokemon, because I never really got to play it because I never owned a Game Boy when the original Pokemon craze was still around in the late 90's.

I wish this system was around when I was a kid. It sure would've ended this huge Sega Vs. Nintendo war I used to have with a friend back in elementary school. I love that this thing plays Sega, Nintendo, and Super NES games. I already have about 90 Genesis games and I've been thinking about starting a Nintendo collection for a while. This system would be perfect for me. Maybe when I grab a little more money at work, I'll be able to afford this awesome looking system.

The other thing is, what controllers DO work on this system besides the ones that come with it? Can you buy additional Yobo type controllers if these break?

I only know that the GN Twin controllers work without any modifications because they use the same plug. You COULD use the controllers that come with the original 60-pin version of the Yobo FC Game Console(or any other Famiclone that uses 9-pin controller ports, for that matter, just cut the plug so it fits). You can also take any (Super) NES controller and swap the cables around with that of the FC3.
And one thing - has ANYONE tested this unit with Virtua Racing? Does it work on the FC3 Plus?

Apparently, their copy of either S&K or Sonic 3 was bad as I have an FC3, and also have all the Sonic games. I have personally tested the S&K lock on games, and all do work on my FC3.

on the fc duo you can use snes controllers, thats good to know. and i dont have any genesis games so i think ill get the duo, its a little cheaper and games were better on snes than genesis anyways.

It would be nice if they could just give the system 3 sets of controller ports so that the old controllers can be used. Or allow Adapters to be used to fit the old controllers to this system or something.
Sure, have it come with it's own controllers that work with all of the games on some level so that people have something to use, but give us the option to use the originals. Once they do that, then it will truely be the ultimate retro system.

You can only get S-Video from the Super NES side, as far as I know, but it requires opening the unit and soldering parts on a small chip.
