  • I have no problem admiting that when this song comes on, I find a suitable microphone (usually a pen) and shout out the lyrics...

  • You see how it says "Playing at the Starland Ballrom, Newark on Dec. 30th, 2011"?

    I was there.

    And it was fucking awesome.

  • T.H.U.G.

  • I keep forgetting the lyrics D:

  • (Without clicking on "Show more")

    Lyrics:

    AHH, IMPETUS.

    That's all I need really.

  • FUCK YEAH! this shit it awesome

  • sounds like STP

  • there old songs were so good, the newer ones are too but i like when they were more agressive

  • @paynej123 And raw! I still think Transnational Speedway League is their best album!

  • T.H.U.G. brought me here...now im leaving...

  • @xxgoliathxx1 cool story bro?

  • @xxgoliathxx1 don't let the door hit you in the ass, fucking panty waste loser.

  • @irvingcsaltzburg oh no you trolled me on a youtube comment, now i might cry

  • @xxgoliathxx1 yeah that's right kid, i'm the one who's trolling. i'm not the one who went searching for a video i didn't care about just to act like an uppity douchebag and be like "i'm leaving this video cause i'm too good for it". you can't just stop watching the video and find something else suitable for your shitty tastes, you have to leave behind some faggy hipster comment involving a shitty video game before you do. just fuck off and don't say a word like normal people you fucking idiot.

  • @irvingcsaltzburg Looks like he really got you riled up, didn't he? Lmao calm down.

  • @izelkay no i know he's just trolling, i just have a severe intolerance for arrogant douchy hipsters who think their opinions are the only opinions that matter.

  • @irvingcsaltzburg dude i went searching for this video because i wanted to hear the fucking song i didnt like it all that much. and why the fuck do you tell me that normal people fuck off and dont say anything when you just typed a fucking huge ass comment. and seriously dude do you have to throw such a big ass bitch fit? your acting like i fucking killed your mom. i just said that i dont like the song all that much i didnt rape your fucking sister.

  • @xxgoliathxx1 You can stop with the Freudian talk about moms and sisters kid, it just makes you look more like a pussy. And where the fuck do you think you have the right to get defensive with me, were you honestly not expecting negative feedback? The vast majority of people watching this video came here cause they like Clutch. If you sampled this band and don't like them then fucking leave and don't say anything, that's what I meant by a normal person's negative reaction retard.

  • This is the first Cluitch song I ever heard...way back in 1994. Listened to it maybe five times in a row. Had no idea what he was saying...didn't care.

  • This song was stuck in my head today. :)

  • Just saw clutch at House of Blues in Atlantic City with Motorhead. They rocked and did a lot of old stuff. Thanks for posting the song.

  • AAAHHHHHH IMPETUS!!!!

  • Clutch makes love to my Ears........yes I just said that...

  • Clutch makes love to my Ears..........:)

  • Clutch makes love to my Ears...

  • thats the mark of a truly great band: one that can reinvent itself while remaining true to its musicianship and fanbase

  • I knew I recognized this song from somewhere... THUG!

  • Anyone else yell IMPETUS when Neil does? I can't stop it.

  • @vermillioneffect Every time!!

  • @vermillioneffect Iknorite?

  • @vermillioneffect didnt only yell it but shook my fist in the air

  • I'm almost positive this was on the original THUG, not THUG 2.

  • @ThorinSHR You are right! I started playing it again and it reminded me of how much this song is great!

  • @ThorinSHR

To true as I only had THUG and I love this song.

  • THUG2 got me into Clutch. And I'm glad it did.

  • siiiiiiiiiiiiiiicccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkAAAAAAAAAARRRGGGHHHHHHH!!!!

  • Tony Hawk Underground 2 :D

  • fuck it up bitoch. i will not relent.

  • Early Clutch is tremendous. Their newer tunes are damn good too but, obviously, so different. Even with the musical changes as the band matured, every album's great. So good. One of my favorite bands. And this is one of my favorite tunes by Clutch.

Saw a dude at 4am roaming the Dorchester streets with an old Clutch T on. That random guy inspired me to youtube the old songs.

  • Loved Clutch for 17yrs now. Still f'ing awesome.

  • 3 dislikes what the hell?

  • @coolmikevids99 MISCLICK I HOPE!

  • Epic. 'nuff said

  • I AM DRIVEN!!!!

  • love the song

  • Sounds like it could be a really good boss fight song :D

  • This is a great song, but the new stuff is just... so much better.

  • @Impulsive21694 different, and good.. but better is such a hard thing to quantify when it comes to clutch. it has grown.. like a tree... they are clutch, their roots are classic rock and blues, their vehicle is metal. their evolution has been a pleasure to follow.

  • bad fucking ass!

    thats it

  • shit, this thing was out way before 1997. 1992/3. seen em at milwaukee metal fest that year. hilarious it took until stupid video games for this shit to get known

  • Does anybody have the correct guitar tabs for this song?

All the ones on the net, that i have found all are all wrong or dont include some parts. If any one, could help me out on this, it would be most appreciated! ^^

  • fuck yeah

  • fucking long intro but good song thou

  • Thank you Tony Hawk Underground for giving me an awesome band!

  • i cannot stop listening to this song. its like im being, posessed, or something.

idk what i was talking about. CLUTCH FTW!!!

  • 1st clutch song I ever heard.

Tony Hawk: Underground = best video game soundtrack ever!

  • @TNA796

    a-fuckin-men brotha!

  • @RodasAPCTV

    haha, you too?

  • @TNA796

    Yeah. It's soo addicting...

  • I've got a wicked demo version of this on an Earache sampler I bought in '92. Still my fav Clutch song.

  • Sometimes I drink a bit too much, then I find myself wanting to ramble inanely. And so I do.

FUCK YES! Cluch, if only God were possessed of the insight to make more bands like you, this world would be just right. Unfortunately, God made a grievous error when He created man, and so you are but one of a kind. Fortunately, He did possess the grace to create you, lest we be plagued by another Nickleback -- or loath I am to consider ano..

Fuck it, I've typed too much already. More Clutch!

  • You should check out Mastodon, they are fucking sick.

  • AHHHHHHHHHH!!!! IMPETUS!!!!!!

  • this band knows how to bring the adrenaline man, they subtly influenced all those posers back in the 90's whether those bands knew it or not. fuckin music industry, i finally discovered clutch from havin to play god damn tony hawk underground, but it was a pretty epic moment when i did.

  • yea without underground i wouldnt be listening to high on fire, mastadon, or this right now lol

  • i ate them

  • Fire and Brimstone - I WILL NOT RELENT

  • They must have had this out on a demo tape way earlier, cuz I remember listening to this when I was like 15, way before '97.

  • You are correct. It was originally on some pretty obscure EP I had on cassette (I think it had might have had Molt or Juggernaut or High Caliber Consecrator on it/ not sure of the track list). Regardless, I remember them playing this song live as early as '93-'94, maybe even earlier (hard to remember now). Anyway, they eventually reissued this song and a bunch of other excellent classics (like Juggernaut and High Caliber Consecrator) in '97.

  • @RobfromNod

It was on an LP I think it was Passive restraints. It had High caliber, Passive restrainte, and Impetus. It was released in 92 93.

  • how bout "hypnotist"? i thought that was the word until i saw the name of the song.

  • r they still together?

  • Are you serious? Clutch has been together since roughly 1990. They just released their latest album in July of this year, and they just finished a tour. Fear not, because they're about ready to start a tour right back up again.

Though, Clutch has evolved. Their later stuff doesn't exactly sound like this. They're still an amazing band.

  • ya i havent really followed them since blast tyrant

  • There´s a more less melodic and more rough version of "impetus" on the naive-sampler from 1992!

  • Almost 20 years later and it still makes me want to break stuff.

  • Think again.....TEN years would be 1999. This was first released on the Passive Restraints 7" back in 1991 or 92......ALMOST 20 YEARS AGO.

    YOU can try again.

  • @Davetopay bro ppl cant do math, cut them some slack

  • I always thought he said "Litmus test" ;) next time you hear it, say it...it works

  • HAHAHAHA. Litmus Test DOES work.....

  • Sound like "HIT THE TRASH!" when I first heard it.

  • Classic Clutch at their best!!!!!

  • AHHH IMPETUS! =] epic song!

    thx for posting =]

  • Thanks to Clutch and many other awesome artists, even the rap was excellent, they have perfected in making the best soundtrack ever for a video game. That game was perfect. This is my favorite from Clutch, and the members play their instruments in very unique, but Neil Fallon, is a monster with strep throat. Sorry dudes, for the long comment, I love Clutch a lot.

  • @Shockheadd45 Does not matter how long the comment is as long as its gud. and it was gud , thanks for speaking the truth.

  • @IWantGoats Lol, thanks, man. Holy crap a damn comment from me, gets this much agreement?

I usually don't think much about what I say, hahaha.

  • @Shockheadd45 no problem. anything to try and dissolve the sterotype that everyone that comments on things on the internet is just out to criticize.

  • I love this song! It was my first encounter with this band, and i immediateley loved it!

  • ditto man!

  • Great song, but I like the demo version better. More rough and raw

  • I'd say you are definitely co-rect. Demo is a different type of hungry.

  • My favorite song by Clutch.

  • i will not rellent!

  • yeah on tony hawks underground

  • Memories =]

  • Does anyone remember Max Out videos on ESPN? It was back in the early '90s and they would mix random sports clips (as in mountain biking, skating, rally driving, etc.) in a way that matched some very rare music.

It was the shit! It would be like clutch making a music video out of rally footage. And then right to some unsigned band over extreme trail running.

I watched every episode with a pen and paper so I could remember the new bands that I fell in love with every episode.

  • nice tune

  • no problem ;) I was disappointed that this song was not up on YouTube. Hope it will last a while :)

  • Thank you so much for uploading this song! I've been waiting for a long time to hear it.

  • I'm sure this song was on a tony hawks game.
