I use the camera a lot to take pictures of my kid's soccer games. The camera has a "sports mode." I think it does a good job with the pictures.

I'm very interested in this camera or the sx30 mainly to use at sporting events (Hockey) -- have you taken pictures in the Sports mode? Are they crisp?

Would love to get feedback on that feature of taking photos of moving objects.

Nothing special, I simply transferred the video from the camera to the pc, using Canon's supplied software.

what were the settings for rendering the video??? can you use vegas pro for this kind of footage?

Yes, while recording you can take pictures at the same time.

SX 20IS is the best digi cam in this segment. Keep in mind we cannot shoot more than 30 minutes in HD mode need to created another file to continue.

I'm buying this Canon ... I have a Canon "SD780 SI" which is super compact w/ HD movie also....but only 3X zoom ...love this Video though btw i'm a "FRESNO STATE BULLDOG" fan lol...but i do have respect for BYU great School..

Friend can you put a video in Low Light ? please i am going to buy this camera soon and need to know the quality in low light conditions,, very thanks in advance

Low light footage is not that great. There is graininess to the video. I ended up getting a light for the camera shoe: Sima SL-20LX. The light does help, but it only throws light about 10-12 feet. In defense of the SX20 IS, I've yet to see a consumer camera that does well in low light situations.

Pictures look great too. No editing is required to post on Youtube, since the file is a .mov file.

Low light performance isn't the best for the video shots. I've yet to find a consumer camera that does exceptionally well in low light. I recommend getting an external light ( e.g. SL-20LX) to use with the camera. I did shoot a soccer game with overcast skies and the video detail was still excellent, with no graininess at all.
