While many less educated ppl undoubtedly ask complicated questions that require more thought and consideration than a simple yes or no, many politicians are adept at evading very simple but poignant questions that can be answered with as such. In addition, reasons for evading "yes and no" questions are twofold. 1) because the politician is trying to hide wrondoing/lies/corruption and 2) because is in the public's interest for them not to know.
