i felt a little sad that they didn't make that scene on the book in wich Aragorn is healing healing Eowyn and Faramir and he sends a girl to pick up Athelas an underrated flower with healing properties, and she recognizes him as the king from the tales, because the Athelas flower is also known as the "King's Flower" , and Gandalf confirmed the girls faith when she went back and saw the flowers properties actually working

But remember that even though Boromir defended Gondor...Aragorn<after the fall of the northern kingdom the Kings line was reduced to dunedain chiefs to the rangers of the north who in turn patrolled and defended the borders of middle earth even the shire was under their protection...so much as it would have pissed Boromir off,Aragorn was still the protector of middle earth n was legitimate to the throne

That was something that Peter Jackson wanted him to say, to make this all more dramatic. In book there was not a single word about that.

You MUST read the book, its about 862 times better than the movie :)

In both the book and the movie Boromir's last words are "I would have followed you, my brother, my captain, my King". Therefore in an ironic twist of fate Boromir is the first to call Aragorn "King". For once the book is EXACTLY the same as the movie! read carefully, and watch the Extended Edition.

@happylmc Why are you talking about the movie? Its Peter Jackson's version. In book Boromir wasnt very happy with that idea about Aragorn being his king.

I truly understand him, he was was always risking his life to protect his city, but then someone like Aragorn appeared, claiming that he has rights to the throne. I would be pissed off too!

What is that scene between Legolas and Aragorn where he shows him the evensar? Is is extended edition of which movie?

Its from the extended cut of the two towers. Aragorn is flung off a cliff face after becoming tangled up with a warg. The evenstar falls off and is retrieved by legolass. Later on when aragorn turns up at helms deep legolass returns the evenstar to him.
