My first car was a 1946 Packard. I recommend watching any videos here which show the Packard plant in Detroit as it looks today in disrepair. Packard was great in many ways. I also recommend searching any info about Earle C Anthony who sold Packards for fifty years. He also started KFI Radio in Los Angeles.
Could be a much longer video. If ever anyone gets to Detroit, be sure to check out the Packard Factory. Still "standing" even though it's been abandoned for over 50 years. Great exploring through the plant - it's over a mile long. Plenty of you-tube videos on it too.
Post here if LA noire brought you here :)

There's just something about cars from defunct brands that I find fascinating and cool.

My grandfather owned a Packard dealership. Wish he had saved me one.

That would have been great. where was the dealership? The ones in LA were really works of art.

Frederick, Maryland. All's I have left of it is a letter opener with the dealership's name and address on it.

I'll upload some more clips from the show and I have some great home movies showing people driving Packards in the 20s and 30s. Amazing cars.
