The way i see it is that a contestent on the show knows or at least thinks they know that the show will not do anything to permanetly injure someone and they wouldn't allow anyone to die, so what's the problem? If these people thought they were delivering lethal does of electricity that's one thing, but hurting them a little bit is no big deal people have been doing that for entertainment for millenia.
prepare for a new holocaust against groups who are deemed undesirable. Groups that TV/media is demonizing, like blacks, immigrants, Muslims, chinese.....or whatever our government is scapegoating for our failed economy or loosing wars or whatever..
Because several Americans made the same mistake the contestants made on the French game show.
For a few seconds, they thought that actions that are morally reprehensible are not actually morally reprehensible . . .
just because a few television people told them so.
Never see people as authority figures, just because they're on television. And never follow authority figures, when they tell you to sell your soul, as Hitler did with the German military.
Actually, Clinton was incredibly popular internationally. The Republican Congress made us look bad in the 1990s but they got less attention than Clinton did.
When Fox News and Fox's dramatic series, 24, and President Bush all tell you to throw away everything your parents ever stood for and everything our veterans died for in WWII and everything our Founding Fathers stood for when they rejected the arbitrary tyranny of monarchy . . .
have a backbone, don't do it!
Torture is a despicable act that destroyed America's reputation and it will be a very long time before we get it back.

The French got this idea from us. We did this as an experiment in the 50's. THAT'S what it's got to do with America.

@TheDistortionist Oh my bad, 60's. It explains it.

America was a symbol of Hope. After Bush, we're not.

And with Obama, the only hope I have is in the amount of people that oppose him.

Traditions differ from country to country, but morality is the same. And there are people who can't tell right from wrong everywhere.
They end up depending on authority figures, and it gets them in a heap of trouble.

@ReliableInsider
That's a stupid thing to say. We've been losing our credibility for 2 decades now. And it isn't getting any better with Obama in office.
