Saw her peerform in London some years ago and the almost eclectic style to the performance had me hooked although I guess a lot of people didn't get it and were there for the purely commercial offerings. One thing I respect about her is the way she that she gives you an experience, more than just reeling off her repertoire of songs. Loved it when she theatrically removed her head wrap, supposedly hiding a head full of dreads, but actually revealing a beautiful short nappy hair style. Wonderful
