I showed my sister the definition of Stockholm Syndrome during this part of the movie. She freaked out, must have ruined the movie for her. So much win.
It's funny how I realize just now, when I'm older, that belle has a serious case of stockholm syndrome and beastiality. But wth, I still love this movie!
@ecrmn23483 I doubt it's stockholm syndrome. When he lets her leave, she immediately does without a second thought, and probably would have never returned if he wasn't in mortal danger because of her.
While the bestiality thing could be... arguable, I guess, but it's weird to me when the whole message of the movie is to look past appearances, and saying Belle has a case of bestiality would pretty much defeat that sort of message.
@TheAquaColors Of course she leaves without a second thought. She thought her father was dying. And as she explains to Chip, she did like it at the castle. I could easily see her going back.
Beastiality... I mean, the Beast knew he would be human before he ever got laid, but Belle could not have known that. So a little beastiality there possibly, but like you said the message is looking past appearances.
@bigstar66 Hmm, yeah, but I still doubt she ever would have returned under normal circumstances (Well maybe to take Chip home but not after that), not to mention the reason the Beast was so depressed around the climax was because Belle probably would never return, and even if she did the rose probably would've wilted.
Yeah, the bestiality is questionable, though like I said, taking the movie's message into account it's mostly ignorable, and rather tame considering most original fairytales.
@TheAquaColors I do think she would have returned to the castle under normal circumstances, once her father's health was in order. I mean, they formed a true, strong friendship with each other. I don't see her never returning. But for all we know it would have been after the rose wilted.
Hey everybody!! Let's get Disney's attention!! Disney you need to make a channel where they show their old movies and shows. Disney we want the magic we used to feel back.
Let's all tell Disney how much we miss the old Disney. Thumbs up this comment and repost to different disney videos and maybe we can let Disney know how we feel. I don't know if this will work, but if we all chip in maybe it will. As Disney says "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes.
@blackflamedemon Thanks for the information. In my opinion, Beauty and the Beast is definitely the most romantic animated movie, although a bit too serious. The Little Mermaid and Alladin are a mix of action, drama, music, romance, comedy in one that you actually have fun watching. However,TheLion King is the best one.It combined all these to tell a storywith powerful universal messages.Just to think that it was the underdog project, and most Disney animators chose Poccahontas instead!
Pokemon, Arthur, Hey Arnold, Rugrats, Fireman Sam, Thunderbirds, Thomas the Tank Engine, Brum, Winnie the Pooh, Wiggles, Play School, Seasame Street, Lion King, Pinocchio, Beauty and the Beast, The Hunchback of Notre Dam, Pocahontis, The Little Mermaid, Aladin, Tarzan, Cinderella, Snow White, The Emprors New Groove, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars . . . . . . .

Damn really miss the old disney. Bring them back!!
i swear just like my parents he cant control his temper, aggressive ,stubborn her a heart of gold her beauty, nice. sencere, like fell in love for his heart not looks i guess..
I always thought beast was wayyy handsomer as a beast. The prince didn't fit my image of the guy for Belle and It didn't show all the things beast shows in his beast form.
@Aquarius230 I'm of the opinion that the ten-year Renaissance era was the crux of Disney's genius. I think those ten films were better than most of what Disney made in the Golden Age of Animation combined. Every time I compare the films from both eras, there's no contest about which ones are more musically awesome, magical, memorable and powerful. But that's just me.
@Guigley Yeah you are right. That's good though , because by comparing the two eras we can actually see how the movies they made got better with time.
126 of you are morons. 8,196 of you are right! oh disney, im a teenager, and i HATE the stupid things disney has come out with. What happened to the magic of moviemaking? :/
he had too it was his only chance to fall in love .. And at first yeah he was a butthole but atleast he gave her a really nice room to stay in and he changed and let her go cuz he really loved her .. I think it's the most romantic movie ever
every inch of belle screams tenderness. the way she moves, speaks, sings, her personality- everything! it was a great idea, emphasizing this gentleness. i think the beast felt it too, and so he had to be gentle with her. she really looks like she can be broken very easily.
I wonder to what extent the spell worked... do you think she'd have to love him in the romantic way, or just in the friendly way? Because I prefer to believe the latter, just to keep my horrified mind subdued
@AwkwardTurtle002 I totally agree. I think, though, that the Disney films of the 90s will never be forgotten; they're too good for that. Kids today need these films; I honestly can't imagine my childhood without them.
@Guigley i'm 12, and i still own beauty and the beast and some other disney classics on VHS. and i'm hoping when i'm older the tapes will still work, so i can show it to my kids, and pass it on. if i had to watch nothing but new disney, i would be angry. i'm angry as it is, actually, there's no word of mickey, all the good memorable shows and movies vanished, and every girl actress for the new live action shows are now singers. ... i'm at a loss of words, really.
@TheTrinity848 to me; half-half. some good, some bad. what ticks me off to the highest extent is when they make covers of original songs. now sel gomez's winter wonderland wasn't as bad as miley cyrus's girls wanna have fun, or her version of part of your world, but those 2 miley covers i mentioned are horrendous.
@Guigley The Disney renaissance actually started in 1989 with The Little Mermaid, marking the return of fairy tale motion pictures, since the 1950s. So there was alot of expectation and nerveousness around the Little Mermaid since they did not know how well it would do. But it did well and it saved the animation department by making alot of money, and from there on, it just took off.
1:19 So funny. I love this film too much for words. Not only is it one of the greatest films ever made, it gets more things right about love and romance than twenty live-action films combined. Let's hope "Beauty and the Beast" will forever remain a tale as old as time.
@Guigley When I'm older and have a family of my own, my kids will love the same movies I did and hopefully they'll teach their kids the same. It'd be a shame to lose this!
thumb's up if u used to dream of standing on the cliff where Simba was greeted as a lion king or fly with aladin on the magic carpet and getting loss in the middle of jungle with Tarzan, swimming in the ocean with Ariel,Fighting alongside Hercules, saving China with Mulan, never growing up with Peter Pan, or even dancing with the gypsies on the Hunch back of noter-dam but now the 3D cannot do the same thing. So a few weeks ago I posted a comment on here saying that this song basically explained me and my best friends relationship. We started off hating each other but in the past few months there's been "something there that wasn't there before". We went on our first date today and we're now together. I think this is now my favourite song :p <3
Note to Beast "never throw snowballs that weigh more than half the person your throwing them at" lol I mean if it knocked you off your feet what do you think it'd do to her?
Pocahontas taught me to see past skin and differences, Simba taught me that you should learn from your past, not run from it, and of course the circle of life, Belle taught me that its ok to be different, Mulan taught me the definition of honor, Jasmine taught me that sometimes in life you have to make things happen, and voice your opinion, and Woody taught me the definition of friendship: loyalty and fun times.
I really do worry about kids these days without the Classics.
Just about everyone is talking about his outer appearance and how one is better than the other, but doesn't that kind of defy the whole moral of the movie?
You guys are completely missing the point when you say the Beast isn't attractive in his human form. THAT'S THE POINT. His reward was that he got to turn back into a human, and if he was attractive as one, the message of the movie would be broken. If Belle could love him as a beast, she can love him as a human. Problem solved.
@CrazyStacey101 Yah you're right... falling in love with some mentally abusive, asshole of a beast/man who refused to let you leave his home inplace of her father is something that is in every womans dream.
@greaterbeastxellas Says things like this ruin the point of the good Disney movies. Yes he did make her is prisoner but he didn't treat her like one. Thats not what this movie is about.

MaffiasAngelO88 2 months ago 62
@MaffiasAngelO88 Belle threw a snowball at Beast xD That's why his giant snowball was splattered over his head xD

Point of Movie: Dont judge a book by its cover. YouTube coments have all just been answered
pixiehollowlol 2 months ago 6
Just about everyone is talking about his outer appearance and how one is better than the other, but doesn't that kind of defy the whole moral of the movie?
Unvomit 2 months ago 9
You guys are completely missing the point when you say the Beast isn't attractive in his human form. THAT'S THE POINT. His reward was that he got to turn back into a human, and if he was attractive as one, the message of the movie would be broken. If Belle could love him as a beast, she can love him as a human. Problem solved.

@CrazyStacey101 Yah you're right... falling in love with some mentally abusive, asshole of a beast/man who refused to let you leave his home inplace of her father is something that is in every womans dream.
greaterbeastxellas 2 months ago
@greaterbeastxellas Says things like this ruin the point of the good Disney movies. Yes he did make her is prisoner but he didn't treat her like one. Thats not what this movie is about.
