That little hop in the middle of their side by side sit spins is just the cutest thing ever! I love their skating. I wish Sergei hadn't died so early!

g&g capture the essence of pairs skating...they were the ultimate couple in pairs skating! their program flowed and was entirely connected...dimetriev and mishkutenok may have had speed...but they lacked connection in their program...judges back then didn't just look at crazy new jumps and spins...they looked at the program in its entirety...g&g definitely deserved the gold on this one...just saying...

this was good, but NOT gold medal worthy. the rightful recipeints of gold were Dmitriev and Mishkutenok. Had they skated today, the results probably would have been different. damn ordinals!

@MTVMANN But they didn't have perfection. They never had their side by side spins in sync among things. M&D finished strong but this team screwed up their side by side jumps at the end among the aforementioned spins being out of perfect position.
