good job dudde , that's amazing and you have good taste , to have influence from Mike portnoy is a very good thing. Just keep it up with progressive and DT . congratulations ...
Wow...the drums were...really accurate...it's pretty difficult to tell the difference at points, though I can still tell it...but...amazingly done, sir...
he probably woke up one morning after a great night's sleep and thought "You know what, I think I should record myself playing Octavarium" and so he did, which would be the reason why he had so much energy.
hey dude awesome, i don´t have any more words for you... AWESOME, i always wanted to learn drums, but... i couldn´t, so i rejoice watching you play... keep going...and don´t stop!
I want to get a drumset of this caliber, and I was wondering what I should get. I'm heavily considering a Tama set. I just want to know: Where do you get all of those cymbals and what do they do? I've looked through websites and I have no clue what I should get. I can't tell a crash from a splash. I know what hi-hats and rides are, but what are all the various other cymbals you have?
Cymbals are as much art form as any other part of a drum set. Buying one brand over another doesn't take into account the individual nature of the sounds they produce.
Crash cymbals are more like a public school teacher is admonishing children in any assembly. Hissing a Sshhh.
Splash cymbals are more like a loud angry snake. Tssssssss...
I'm no drummer, I'm an audiophile. If I could reproduce the sounds in my head I would have an album. Hehe. Hope this helps.
AAX are nice cymbals, plenty loud. They were made to be loud. I would recommend Paiste Rude for Punk, Alt and Metal. Also Paiste 2002's in heavy weights.
i have been playing for like 2 years i am 14 and i spend preatty much all my money on my drums. i got the ZBT set made by zildaijan. i got the 16 and 18 inch crash (saving for the 14) 10 inch splash 20 inch ride and 14 inch hi-hats i got a mapex set (not good though cost 600 dollars) i also bought a peral firecracker snar and the remo pinstripe tom heads. i got one question though. WHAT IS THE BEST CYMBOL SET FOR PUNK, ALTERNITIVE ROCK, AND METAL MUSIC? i play all them and i dont know
Remo's the leader man. Every head works for a different person. Remo heads are used by pretty much everyone, so by saying Remo sucks, you're pretty much dissing Portnoy, Peart, Palmer, and pretty much any other iconic drummer out there. Everyone's got their own oppinions, but Remo definately doesn't suck. And Neither do Evans, Attack, or Aquarian.
I tell you, I wish I had both of them. They are distinctly different and I wish that I had a ride that had qualities of both. I am close to getting a 22" 2002 Heavy Ride. That is pretty firnly in between the two.
you have a skill talent that is by far one of the most amazing talents ii have seen in a while! you my friend are a very good drummer! i would say 10/10 100% awesome! GREAT JOB man from a fellow drummer NICE GOING!
Dude you are close to perfect Any news from Mike on this? Congrats man an ar art work like this one -- with many challanges and time length is defenitely worth of merit !!! congrats hope Mike @ DT sees this !
This is freaking awesome. I play bass and its pretty hard, but I could never imagine how much drumming for this song would put a drummer through. Awesome Job!
dude you nailed every fill during medicate (awakening) and just about everything, and if you did mess up man you covered most of them pretty nicely, awesome job man, you got true skill
Legendary stuff man - I'm a keyboardist, and playing the solo in this song is hard. I Never really thought about how much work the drummer has to do - 16mins none stop? Must be tiring - but very rewarding. Excellent piece of music complimented by an excellent drummer - Thank you for sharing with us :)
1 Question: How do ya keep the hihat closed and use the double bass pedal at the same time? Just use of ur heel and toe on seperate pedals or what?...
i'm glad you kept this up, this is so fucking fun to watch, because you ENJOY yourself. You gotta keep this up man this is INTENSE :D Fully worth every second of watching!

what ride is that? i know its a paiste but which model - is it a signature?
MulletMan310893 2 years ago
That is a Paiste Dimensions 22" Medium Ride. I don't have it anymore and I regret getting rid of it. :(
They are very hard to find and they are not cheap if you see them on eBay.
gspot27 2 years ago
its got a nice ping on it. u use the blue bell ride now dont u?
MulletMan310893 2 years ago
Yeah, I traded that Dimensions away a while back and I recently bought the Blue Bell. I still want a 2002 Heavy Ride though.
gspot27 2 years ago
which do u prefer - the dimensions or blue bell? jw btw
MulletMan310893 2 years ago

what bout the signature dark metal ride - its pretty nice.
MulletMan310893 2 years ago
Yes they are. My son has the 20" and it is nice. The bell cuts through steel and the ping is good but a little too dry for me.
