Dude...if u want to learn how to do legit Japanese waves...ur gonna need to research actual japanese tattooers from japan...research and study there work...trace trace trace....otherwise ur gonna get a generic looking wave that don't look right...japanese traditional is traditional for a reason....u need to follow the rules...things are done in a certain way for a reason...these waves this tattooer is drawing (no disrespect) but they are the typical western style japanese waves...

@Daequitas The paper you are looking for that is transparent is called layout bond paper, Strathmore makes a decent brand of this.

I like the first wave u drew... Would it be hard to incorporate traditional Japenese style tattooing with american traditional style? I ask because I have Chinese characters (not japanese) On my left outer arm halfway down my arm. But I have an American traditional piece (same arm) on the inside of my forearm. I want to add maybe waves, wind bars or clouds with big bright lightning bolts. Any advice anyone?
