As a huge V8, V10 fanboy I will say that while everyone glorifies the Supra's engine, and rightfully so, it's the stock driveline that impresses me most. No other car  comes to mind that can take so much power of the factory gear box. Engine wise, I'd say the 3 hardest ever made are the 93-98 Supra's, 96-98 fully forged Viper engine and the 2005-2006 Ford GT. 03-04 Cobra great but not quite as strong IMO.

Oh puhlease man LS1 I'd first get a new transmission and engine. Before every burnout. It's a "CHEVY" man, 50K means new transmission..............Did I mention Resale Value? Puhlease man Getting ahead of the race isn't everything, arriving in one piece is more important. Oh yeah BTW you would smoke a Supra if you Put on a turbo. Exactly, you almost answered your own question. The body design is simple but aerodynamically correct and the engine is in a league of it's own. Don't be a hater of an inline 6 that can take most V8's.

When they were producing them for the US, it wasn't selling enough during the "American Muscle Era" eg, Mustangs & Camaro. Didn't quit make it for the "Tuner Car Era" to hit North America hard. Now, they are redesigning and bringing back a king to North America. As for the R34, it was all just emmission laws and all that other BS.

I saw an R32 a few weeks ago as I was on the onramp getting on the 2fwy in L.A near Dodger Stadium. My jaw dropped when i saw it. It been like the 3rd skyline I see in the L.A. area. The other time I saw them at night so this time I was 100% sure it was a skyline. White with gold and silver wheels. Person had it very nicely looking. Tried to catch up to it for a better look but, yeah right, like my 82 Oldsmobile Cutlass would catch up to it :P
