  • I love this scintillating version, certainly better than any guy ever sang it and there's some seriously stunning performances out there, this one tops them all, it even changed how I did my instrumental arrangement of this song (available on YouTube), thank you Linda and whoever arranged that tricky set of charts for an orchestra.

  • INCREDIBLE talent! When I watch her perform I think I might just want to marry her. (Quite the opposite is true when I watch Celine Dion perform--not only do I not want to marry her, I find myself attracted to other men.)

  • I love this. Thanks for posting this gem. :-)

  • This is beyond espectacular!!!!! Simply AMAZING!!!!! I wasn't a fan of Linda until I saw this video. I thought she wasn't polished or refined, but this performance just blew me away.

  • Does anyone realize how great this is?

  • fab - just love this song!

  • To the poster that claims "i sing iit better"---ok baby why don't you win Star Search, Star in a Broadway Show written for you, record 12 albums, get signed by Sony Masterworks and sing at Carnegie Hall like she is doing in this video you claim " i sing iit better".. NyQuil and cheap Pinot Grigio have been known to produce the symptoms you appear to suffer......

  • this woman is simply AMAZING!!

  • Just when you think she's hit her show stopping high note...... She goes higher!!!

  • she does ok. i sing iit better

  • @AntaresInScorpius I seriously doubt you come within a mile of singing any song as well as she can.

  • Saw her perform Sunday and she was phenomenal! Anyone who wants to and hasn't seen her live, NEEDS TO!!!

  • What power and passion! It made me cry with joy. Though it was written for a male voice, she makes it her own and does a brilliant job. She is the noble Don Quixote, with all his enthusiasm and determination to right the wrong in the world. You just want to join her on her quest. When she sings, I feel Spain and that long ago time when chivalry was paramount. That’s probably what made me cry. Don Quixote is a man of principles, which are sorely lacking in this age of arrogance and greed.

  • I can´t get enough of this song. Fantastic.

  • The power put into this song... I just can't even describe it. It makes me feel empowered about myself

  • Brilliant, absolutely brilliant! Love it.

  • saw here live- jones hall-houston-gave me chills

  • omg when she hit that high note around 2:23, I got chills. She's so good (:

  • I usually hate most singers live, because their voices are usually so edited that they are no longer 'real' but she sounds just as good live as recorded

  • I love this song.

  • There are always people who have to grumble... poor twelve brainless or deaf ones.

  • 12 dislikes? I feel like people just hit "dislike" just to be douches. There is nothing "dislikable" about this performance. 'Nough said.

  • This is absurd. How can a human sing this well????

  • A voice like smooth tapioca. Bravo.

  • Now here's a real singing star!

  • oh my gravy... she makes it look SO EASY!!!!! Go girl! Yes, giant high note!

  • rap are you kidding me. baby your the best.

  • I mean are you kidding? Unbelievable voice....

  • Ive only just dicovered Linda...and now I cant get enough of her fantastic talent..THAT VOICE!!! ..beautiful woman, beautiful soul, beatiful voice.........im bewitched xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • she just gets better with age, just like a fine wine

  • Love it Love it Love it Love it

  • I do love her version of this song.

  • my favorite part is the quick eyebrow raise at 2:20 -- it's like she's saying, "yea, you think this is good; just wait!"

  • @SNLvsBroadway

  • Have you realized the little play with the eyebrows to the audience or someone special in the rows in the middle of the falsetto at 2:20 :) Amazingly cool...

  • @2010Crosswind

actually.. that's wghat you're supposed to do when you sing high so you can hit the notes..

  • @lostrent815

sorry but I still insist, that it was a little blink to the audience at that moment....and I liked it:)

  • Is this from a show?

  • Fabulous vocals and overall presentation!!! She is an amazing vocalist--what a stunning falsetto! LOVE HER.

  • Absolutely awesome!

  • Linda Eder is magnificent. She is the only singer who can match Streisand in range and intensity. The control she has over her vocals is amazing. Simply put....I LOVE THIS WOMAN!!!

  • Does anyone remember what concert this was performed at? I know Julie Andrews hosted and I cannot for the life of me remember. I remember it was the first time I ever heard "Nothing" from A Chorus Line performed as well by...someone else. XD It was a Best of Broadway Music by broadway stars (as made obvious by Eder peforming here. Doh.)

  • @StrikeBrief My Favorite BROADWAY.. The Leading Ladies.. Live at Carnegie Hall

    "Nothing" Performed by Priscilla Lopez...

  • Wow...those high notes!!! Amazing.

  • and mariah carey thinks she's so cool with her whistle tones *eyeroll* linda is so much better.

  • Mariah Carey has a phenomenal voice BUT she did her best work under her first husband Tommy Mottolla when she REALLY sang, instead of the crap way she sings now. JMO

  • Her vocal ability is unearthly.

  • She looks like the woman who plays Jan on The Office.

  • i adore her voice

  • sooo good

  • I admire this woman - she is magnificent!

My God - my heart is beating after that performance! Simply amazing!

    (I added &fmt=18

  • This is SOOO dope!!!! Ear Candy :-P

  • she is ridiculous!!! amazing.

  • visually she reminds me of Minnie Driver.

    SHE should've played Carlotta. Hahaha!

  • every time I watch this I'm in all of Linda, she is absolutely amazing!

  • I didn't know Linda played in Man of Lamancha before. What is her role? Was it Aldonza?

  • She didn't play in it, but sang it at a concert.

  • I saw her at the kennedy center in september doing her Judy Garland CD and it was PHENOMENAL.

Ugh, this is SO fierce. I wish she would do broadway again

  • I would LOVE to see Linda live. Her voice is one of the best, but Linda, PLEASE put the mic in a stand and just SING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • I just saw her, and she was great, but I wish she sang this song!!! I love this woman, Wonderful, Amazing Talent.

  • I think she's the best that ever was--including Streisand. Taking a shot at this song really took chops. I saw her do it for the first time at the Kennedy Center before she was a legend. People were stunned. Check out "I never knew his name." She's so damn authentic. Youbelieve every syllable.

  • Don't you diss Barbra

  • Streisand ain't got shit on her.

  • the f-sharp gives me goosebumps!

I think she is a stellar belter

  • >>>the f-sharp gives me goosebumps!

I don't know anything about music. What part of the song where she hits this f-sharp, please>

  • What a voice,and show she puts on!My wife,and I,see her,everytime she is in town!

    OH WAIT,SHE IS HERE FRIDAY!

Guess where i,ll be friday night!!!!!!! LOL

  • Seen her 5 times. It is breathtaking, and NOT to be missed if she is in town. The audience found it difficult to not stand up after EVERY song. She is the musical world's best kept secret.

  • I'm pretty sure this lady is a witch... that F# just doesn't exist... NOT REAL!!

... but no seriously that was amazing...

  • I LOVE HER

  • LINDA EDER FOR PRESIDENT!

  • She leaves me breathless...

  • her F-sharp is spectacular!

  • oh yes!

  • So at 2:20 when she's about to go into the stratosphere, she raises up her eyebrows like she's making a joke or something, I love it!!!

I think it takes a really fun singer to be able to produce such great song and also put personality into it.

  • that is so cute!

  • Gives me the chills every time.

  • i remember hearing this version when Katarina Witt skated to it many years ago... 2:09 is amazing... its stuck with me since my childhood and now i finally found it!!!

  • I have had the great priviledge of seeing her in concert many times. She and Christine Andreas are so engaging and are probably the best of their type to see live. I only regret that years ago someone kept trying to drag me to see Eder in some small NY clubs and I kept putting him off. What a set of pipes!

  • Cervantes would be proud.

  • Would be in the songs, but the storyline is not so good :(

  • Gives me chills every time I hear it! I saw her live a few yrs ago - WOW, what an amazing voice!

  • In my humble opinion, Linda Eder is easily the most exciting singer alive on the entire planet today.

  • "Simply incredible" doesn't even begin to sum up her voice! More like "BREATHTAKING!"

  • ive seen her do this

i think we were standing before she was even finished

  • This woman is ridiculous! No one should be singing that huge note where she keeps getting higher and then wink halfway through! Geeze! haha She is such a phenominal talent and deserves so much more credit!! Incredible! :)

  • How she can do this sharp note, only with the effort that her would take to she to eat a yogurt. And she smile meanwhile. An incredible artist.

  • Bella!!!! Brava!!!! Just beautiful. What a treat!

  • she's incredible

  • I feel Linda doesn't get enough credit in the music world! She has such a stunning voice!! She can sing circles around anyone! I never see her at any awrd shows. I wonder why?

  • Great singing Linda!! You should do an album of Streisand songs!! Like you did with Judy's. You are the new Strerisand!!

  • wow shes good

  • fairydust, altho i agree trashing streisand is unwarranted, still eder is, IMHO, the MUCH better performer. she brings life to her music. it's not just how great a singer she is, but she finds a way to express a song that streisand seems to oftern lack. with strisand it's more just a demonstration of her great voice without enough attention to word color, vocal color, moods, interpretation and tempo and, which eder does so well.

  • Well said, I am older than dirt and have heard thousands of singers. I know something about singing, and this lady is one of the all time great artists. She has that knack of taking a song and making it her own. She knows that holding a note and not using vocal gymnastics is how a song should be sung. She should be declared a national treasure. Her rendition of "Vienna" is just astounding. It is an old form of flattery, but she could sing the yellow pages and make it would be beautiful.

  • That was a response to the Patty X80 comment.

  • Wait a minute all... Linda Eder is good but no need to trash the great Barbara Streisand. No way is Streisand a Linda Eder want to be. NO way. Both ladies are outstanding!

  • Barbara didn't sing this! Or did she?? O_o

  • No, it's a male song! It was sung by Placido Domingo :)

  • I don't doubt Placido Domingo sang this song, but Richard Kiley performed it on Broadway in the musical.

  • alba, you're absolutely right the conductor is behind her. you can tell right at the start of the video shortly after the trumpet solo begins. the conductor is behind eder and is between her and the orchestra. maybe the eyebrow twitch was something she didn't even realize she did but was simply an instinctive, "okay, here we go". whatever it was, she is simply a joy to watch and listen to (and i'm talking solely professionally here, folks). i never tire of this performance.
