Italy was the centre of Civilsation of Europe even after the downfall of the Roman Empire as it was a country of intellectual richness and material wealth (not so much now). back to my main point, COUGH COUGH COUGH!!!!. So Italy today is Italian and Latin, but we are not Greek. Italians are Latin. But like me if you are Italian, you will have Celtic DNA, Germanic DNA, Jewish DNA, Greek DNA Spanish DNA and Arab DNA Mixed in to one. But even before that many other Euros settled in to Italy; eg, Celts, Eastern Euros, Germanics, etc. My paternal great grandfather was Greek. I have a Latinized Greek surname. My mum is definitely mixed too. She appears frankish. I don't look Italian in the sense as most most redneck stereotypes portray Italians. Strange but true fact; Italy was the America of Europe.
