You, l feel really bad for these ladies because of their families and because of many other things but please do not tell me that there is social oppression. Girls can do almost whatever they want...All my girl friends drink alcohol, wear short skirts and no sleeves and do whatever they want and none of them are veiled. I think the many reason why many "muslims" (you're being tooo general, muslims do not only limit to persian and arab races.) marry their cousins is because of CULTURE. The religion simple ALLOWS such marriages, no one HAS to marry their cousin (although their are still parents that force their children too, even though such acts in forbidden (haraam)). In my CULTURE, marrying cousins is not popular and most people do not do that.
