No shocks and the construction are bolted onto the frame with 'hinges' and is made of s-shaped steel tubing with foot holders on the skies, the bike is a very light 2-stroke automatic working great in terrain even with a passenger.
I've never seen anything like this before, and want to know more. Is there a page about these bikes with the skis on the sides? Do the skis have shocks or are they fixed in place? I'd really like some closeup pictures.
it seems that these pussies haven't realised that you can use spiked tires. to have two stupid skis on the bike really limits your movement on difficult terrain, which military motorcycling is all about
so wich spiketyre last on tarmac roads ??not all driving is on icy roads
we have tested spiketyres but the spikes have to be so long that they dont peform on tarmac or hard grawel roads and they are twice the price of ordenary trelleborg army special tyres
Great posting and a very interesting riding style! These look very much like Canam Bombardier 250cc bikes, if so I never new that the Swedish army were using them and that these bikes were still in military service. If you could confirm bike type then that would be great. Have added a video respone so you can see the Canam Bombardier. Thanks
the bike is an husqarna 258 automatik and it has been i n use sinse 1975.76 and the swedish army has been using motorbikes sinse the 50s now the army has byed 150 ktm motorbikes but the husqarna is still in use in edukations purpus so the bomadier has newer ben in use in sweden but jawa and albin bsa and husqarna hawe been in yuse tru the years/fredrick
Ha, love it!!
Safe riding!
