A great villian is very charismatic, which Cage's character is. Also he's not completely twisted, it's obvious he didn't like that he killed a kid, and he stops a guy from raping Archer's daughter.

Also, I wish my coat would do that at 6:45 each time I got out of a car.

There is a difference between knowing what you going to do ahead, and actually committing.

The viewer doesn't know yet, but the assassin's also has a young son similar age, which makes the 2:18 scene even better when Cage realizes the bullet goes through the father and kills the son.

There is only one scene in this awesome opening missing, that of Cage aiming again, but deciding to let the father go.(which obviously is done, but not seen)

So Castor's son will be born about one and half year from assasination.

Archer son would be 10-11 in actual story.
