  • Keith Moon was indeed immortal, but let us not forget The King...John Bonham

  • @DopeMan1928 BOTH KINGS....

  • What is most amazing too me...Is how Keith Moon played the drums -UPWARD,- I know!--If you were not actually seeing this you would never believe anyone. I asked a very accomplished drummer to try this technique ...could not even put out half the sound or come even close to the speed of Keith. He hits the stix to skin on this -upward-tech. so well and quick the duration of the wood to the drum must be a full 1/2 second quicker than a ;downward motion drummer , who more times than not.sinks2long.

  • Keith is the master. Its a shame no new drummers can even come close to him. What we have today is a joke.

  • You got to wonder if those kids knew they were in the presence of true greatness

  • @Foxtrotx1

I think this is the Marquee Club, 1967 (like the My Generation clip?).

  • @MrGb1965 Hello mate ,got to call you on that.I believe this is in a pub in Harrow NW london. The one that was on "meaty beaty big and bouncy"greatest hits album. Now that pub is a (scuse my lang) a fucking Mosque.

    Cheers

  • @MrGb1965 Yeah I could be wrong. You tube" the who railway hotel "It will bring up the first band the high numbers ,absoloutely brilliant footage.

  • Keith Moon's drumming is amazing. One of the Who's best live performances ever.

  • @mystergy I was 16 too.....hail the baby boomers... the music was awesome in the 60's....

  • @777collie We are the mods we are the mods weare we are we are the mods, still is awesome

  • Just look at all the young Brits trying to dance to The Who.

    What an incredible joke!!!!

  • Oh how I wish i had been arund to see The Who, Jimi, Janis, The Doors. Music today is crap! I guess I was born in the wrong decade! <3

  • Wow, how many drugs ya think were flowing thru Keith?...I don't care, he ROCKS!!!

  • @ohdee9

i think it's just Keith being Keith

  • saw the Who 3 x's up this close and yes,,,Keith was considered the fastest drummer in rock...but when i saw Ginger Baker again as close as 8 feet in front of me at the Whiskey in LA,,, it didn't matter who was better or best.... in those day's... we had the best period... saw Zep 4 x's in 2 nights...and Bonham wasnt a factor...it was all Page. peroid.

  • You did have the best period, Chuck. I agree absolutely. The music was REAL, right?

  • it was an explosion of talent.

the thing is...we knew nothing else...

...when punk arose in the late 70's....that was basically the end of it... every form of music had been created ,,,, evrything after...has just been a rehashing of what we had,,i'm not stuck in the past, i love todays fantastic music.

i'm just sooo glad,,,as a teenager,,,i saw the best of the best,,, usually u'd go that night,,get a ticket for $3..and walk up to the stage.. sit on the floor,, and out would walk. THE WHO.

  • moon just goes all out ni this song

  • This is great!

  • How did you find this clip? This was their first hit, and has remained my favorite. Thanks for posting.

  • I still have the original record, along with most of their others. Moon The Loon, played brilliantly here. Great shame he died so young.. One of the greatest drummers ever.

  • their first hit?...sorry mate, that was "I can't explain".

  • It's on various dvd;s now, I think this one was taken from the 'special edition' EP? Just another repackaged thing!

  • I am also really sure this is not their first clip. I think this is in 1967 and I have seen clips of them as The Highnumbers in 1964 and as The Who in 1965.

  • Keith Moon was the best. This clip brings back many happy memories!

  • No doubt. This was all about Moon. What he did back then made every drummer better. Including Bonham.

  • @lavenda11 hah. happy memories. you clever dog you.

  • @lavenda11 THE VERY BEST...CALLS FOR ALL CAPITAL LETTERS TOO! THE FUCKING BEST EVER...CHEERS!

  • I first heard this when I was 15 in 1967. I said: Hey wow, did you hear that new Who song...? Pure ecstasy.

  • All hail Keith Moon.

  • @hollies65 Keith ok but Roger and Pete were not shit !
