Sounds like it's off-speed and full of audio "wow" (pitch changing abnormally). BUT I'M NOT COMPLAINING!!!! Thanks for putting this up! Great historical document, and Moon's drumming is just priceless!
"Could switching to GEICO really save you 15% or more on car insurance? Does Keith Moon have some mad drumming skills?" (then they show the part from 1:01-1:15) That would be an awesome GEICO commercial!
What is most amazing too me...Is how Keith Moon played the drums -UPWARD,- I know!--If you were not actually seeing this you would never believe anyone. I asked a very accomplished drummer to try this technique ...could not even put out half the sound or come even close to the speed of Keith. He hits the stix to skin on this -upward-tech. so well and quick the duration of the wood to the drum must be a full 1/2 second quicker than a ;downward motion drummer , who more times than not.sinks2long.
@MrGb1965 Hello mate ,got to call you on that.I believe this is in a pub in Harrow NW london. The one that was on "meaty beaty big and bouncy"greatest hits album. Now that pub is a (scuse my lang) a fucking Mosque.
saw the Who 3 x's up this close and yes,,,Keith was considered the fastest drummer in rock...but when i saw Ginger Baker again as close as 8 feet in front of me at the Whiskey in LA,,, it didn't matter who was better or best.... in those day's... we had the best period... saw Zep 4 x's in 2 nights...and Bonham wasnt a factor...it was all Page. peroid.
...when punk arose in the late 70's....that was basically the end of it... every form of music had been created ,,,, evrything after...has just been a rehashing of what we had,,i'm not stuck in the past, i love todays fantastic music.
i'm just sooo glad,,,as a teenager,,,i saw the best of the best,,, usually u'd go that night,,get a ticket for $3..and walk up to the stage.. sit on the floor,, and out would walk. THE WHO.
I still have the original record, along with most of their others. Moon The Loon, played brilliantly here. Great shame he died so young.. One of the greatest drummers ever.
I am also really sure this is not their first clip. I think this is in 1967 and I have seen clips of them as The Highnumbers in 1964 and as The Who in 1965.
Does anyone know what concert this is from?

Keith is the master. Its a shame no new drummers can even come close to him. What we have today is a joke.
