Magpul is AWESOME! I have a Smith&Wesson 5.45x39 AR 15, and i could not believe the P-Mags work with my rifle, until I tried it. The thing is you can only load about 25 to 28 rds.

Just wanted to let everyone know that NI supply has robbed from my credit card and shipped no goods. I dont know why sootch recommended them, but i thought i would let all readers know that this company doesnt seem to be very reputable.
Great video. I don't have an AR-15 yet (lived in fail state of NY till last month) but when I get one, I"m definitely getting Pmags or similar. I've used my brother's AR-15 and the Pmags seem so much nicer than the regular aluminum mags. Like the follower seems much more sturdy, though I'm sure the GI mags are reliable. But for not that much more $, I plan to just pick up a few Pmags with windows.
There is a gold mine for someone to design and build decent and affordable AK stuff. The Palm mags are ok but expensive. And we know the good AK polymer mags are expensive. Same for chest carry, good gear is expensive. Very frustrating.
How is my comment irrelevant? They guy was asking for composite polymer mags of the same quality of Pmags for his AK. You recommended Tapco because they sell something that looks similar. I chimed in and said they were shit and incomparable to Pmags because I have used the tapco mags and they don't even come close to the quality and durability. It wasn't a personal criticism of you, it was just the facts as experience has shown me.
@thenastiestnate Yes I understand that, but you saying Tapco mags are shit is pointless, because they're the only polymer magazines on the market for AK's. (as far as I know)
I've never had any problems with my Tapco mags, but of coarse Pmags are better quality because they're more expensive. But like I said that doesn't matter because Pmag doesn't make AK magazines.
The British Army now issue a slightly altered version (to fit the L85) to troops going to Afghanistan, and will soon be general issue. I wonder what was wrong with the HK stanag mags...
@sootch00 There's a reason why all your lefthand fingers aren't coming in contact with the foregrip, your not holding it the way Magpul designed it for.
My Pmags don't fall free out of my DPMS, but I don't see this as a bad thing, as I retain my magazines and place them in a dump pouch, instead of leaving a trail of empty magazines behind me.
In response to the 416 I heard that they just don't drop free due to the well design but I have no real world experience with it. I like everything I have heard about the P-mag except I think I saw some negatives with the cold weather drop test due to the plastic becoming brittle
Great review! Just a note for other guys out there. . . if you run a first generation Superior Arms lower reciever, the PMAGS with the window will not fit. The standard PMAGS run just fine.
I have a few magpul mags. only issue is double mag pouches, the body isn't smooth and snags. Troy industries have new pmags that are much smoother and less prone to snagging.
Good vid, I buy AR mags at about a 3 to 1 ratio in favor of Magpul. They work great and look cool but the GI mags have been around so long and been used in so many places I can't just write them off entirely.
Haha at the end there. So I am not the only one who takes for ever to get my first shot off. Oh wait the stock isn't shouldered nice. Time to readjust my grip. Saftey is off? Love it.
@sootch00 Another great vid sootch. I haven't had any problems with my PMags either. I got one stock with my Spikes Tactical AR so I went out and got some with the window.
Man IM a Magpul Pmag nut now myself! I purchased ONE to test it, and since have purchased many more.. I've never used anything other than the originals, until now, and now cant see going back. Good review on a great USA made product! Thumbs up!~~John
@Ripafartstudios I do reload but mostly pistol, but I also use a lot of factory ammo, I'd really rather use factory ammo in my AR, but with all the brass I have, I'm sure I'll be reloading for it as well. Thanks!~
Magpul Pmags, AWESOME ! that is all I do. Magpul also has a great customer service and 10% for LEO, just register your credentials with them. Highly recommended product. I may feed Wolf ammo to my AR once in a while but nothing else but Magpul to my AR
@cobrar85 they don't. The magwell on a 416 is different from a standard AR15. You would need to shave off a few nubs to be able to insert it. Just get the Magpul E mags if you have a 416...
The P-Mag was made AFTER the specs for the STANAG magazine. HK is not retarded, they made the weapon to use in-spec STANAG magazines; only out of spec magazines will not work with the HK. They also won't work with the F2000 or many other standard issue nato weapons.

They don't work with the HK416, or many other STANAG weapons.
The P-mag was designed for american AR15 designs. They released the E-mag to meet standards set by the nato STANAG.
Myself, I believe Lancer L5 AWM magazines are the best on the market, and they are a STANAG magazine, meaning they'll work in pretty much everything. They're also far tougher than aluminum magazine or the P-mag. You can't break the newest gen lancers, I really suggest them to everyone.
@cobrar85 There are emags that are basically pmags that can fit onto other rifles other than the ar15 like the hk416 and rifles that can take 5.56 STANAG magazines.
@cobrar85 My Department issue AR (Olympic Arms) did not like Magpul Mags. But they function great in my personal AR. I think they will very from rifle to rifle.
@cobrar85 Magpul came out with the E-Mag to address this issue--it will work with the 416, SCAR and other newer, "European," non-traditional AR-15 style rifles which tend to have a slightly smaller magazine well.
@cobrar85 I tried a friend's DPMS lower with my DPMS upper and the Pmags are an extremely tight fit in the mag well. I bought a Rock River lower and they drop free though. I'm sure they work in many lowers but the main concern is fitting them in the mag well; some are a much tighter fit than others.
I haven't heard of an issue with the 416, however I do know Pmags do require some modification for fitting for the FN SCAR (both military and the 16S civilian models)
Yes, they don't drop free from the HK416. The 416's magwell was designed to mimic the L85 magwell for some reason. For that you would use a Magpul Emag, which was specifically designed for use in the L85, 416, SCAR, and any other rifle that uses a similar magwell. The British actually bought a large number of them for use in Afghanistan. Another option would be the Troy Battlemag or the Lancer AWM.
ehhh i like magpul and have some of their stuff on my colt ar but not huge about their mags. I have two mags by magpul right now. The older works pretty good but my other one had a really weak spring. I replaced it and now it works great. Btw have you got ahold of a ruger sr1911 yet? Thanks
