  • Magpul is AWESOME! I have a Smith&Wesson 5.45x39 AR 15, and i could not believe the P-Mags work with my rifle, until I tried it. The thing is you can only load about 25 to 28 rds.

  • hey, mate

great review! i have one question: can you connect two magazines like the magazine of the g36 or do you need extra attachements for that?

  • @ChicoRiono you need an extra piece. but those arent expensive. only about 5-10$

  • @TheOuncesDudes Oh wait, one look at your profile, and you're a troll.

  • Funny how Youtube just told me by email about you uploading this video today - 24 days later. Nice review by the way... lol

  • Better buy your h/c mags now. Before the fuhrer

takes away our rights by executive orders.

  • Just wanted to let everyone know that NI supply has robbed from my credit card and shipped no goods. I dont know why sootch recommended them, but i thought i would let all readers know that this company doesnt seem to be very reputable.

  • Great video. I don't have an AR-15 yet (lived in fail state of NY till last month) but when I get one, I"m definitely getting Pmags or similar. I've used my brother's AR-15 and the Pmags seem so much nicer than the regular aluminum mags. Like the follower seems much more sturdy, though I'm sure the GI mags are reliable. But for not that much more $, I plan to just pick up a few Pmags with windows.

  • With a good muzzle brake, a 10 year old child can control a full auto AR. I would not own a full auto without a muzzle brake.

  • Say Sootch that wouldn't happen to be a Tapco foregrip?

  • Just found & bought two first gen. Magpul 30-round mag-kits =]

Make room, I'm coming over s00tch!

  • Why can't somebody make nice mags like this for the AK market? We AK fans need some love to :)

  • @thenomadrhodes Tapco makes excellent polymer mags for the AK-47.

  • @thenomadrhodes

There is a gold mine for someone to design and build decent and affordable AK stuff. The Palm mags are ok but expensive. And we know the good AK polymer mags are expensive. Same for chest carry, good gear is expensive. Very frustrating.

  • @thenomadrhodes Tapco? US Palm? I think Magpul made those Beta AK magazines, but they aren't on the market :(

  • @thenomadrhodes Check out Tapco. The have PMag style magazines for AK's.

  • @HobsonPrototype

The Tapco AK mags are shit compared to Pmags.

  • @thenastiestnate Well considering Pmag doesn't make magazines for AK's, you comment is irrelevant.

  • @HobsonPrototype

How is my comment irrelevant? They guy was asking for composite polymer mags of the same quality of Pmags for his AK. You recommended Tapco because they sell something that looks similar. I chimed in and said they were shit and incomparable to Pmags because I have used the tapco mags and they don't even come close to the quality and durability. It wasn't a personal criticism of you, it was just the facts as experience has shown me.

  • @thenastiestnate Yes I understand that, but you saying Tapco mags are shit is pointless, because they're the only polymer magazines on the market for AK's. (as far as I know)

I've never had any problems with my Tapco mags, but of coarse Pmags are better quality because they're more expensive. But like I said that doesn't matter because Pmag doesn't make AK magazines.

  • Good review Sootch, I think I'll invest in a few of these.

  • Pmags are the only magazine I will put into any of my rifles. Period.

  • I just bought three yesterday, man they are great mags. well made

  • These are the best magazines for the AR. When I bought my first one, I couldn't beleive how inexpensive they were. Love em!

  • Why is your pistol grip so short? Seems kinda uncomfortable

  • Love Magpul mags. I just ordered some Troy Industries polymer Battle mags that I can't wait to try when I come back on leave..

  • The British Army now issue a slightly altered version (to fit the L85) to troops going to Afghanistan, and will soon be general issue. I wonder what was wrong with the HK stanag mags...

  • we sell a lot of those at TrulyTactical(dot)com... they are EXCELLENT mags

  • i don't like the one with the window in the side because I can see all my money leaving

  • @Doughboy1941 ahhahha

  • yep those mags just rock!!!

  • @sootch00 There's a reason why all your lefthand fingers aren't coming in contact with the foregrip, your not holding it the way Magpul designed it for.

  • just bought 2 of them

  • time for an HD camera

  • I'm loving the window on that mag. I've always been a fan of the G36 and Steyr AUG clear mags. Always wondered why that wasn't the standard.

  • British army is buying the E-mag version buy the 100,0000s for the L85A2

  • My Pmags don't fall free out of my DPMS, but I don't see this as a bad thing, as I retain my magazines and place them in a dump pouch, instead of leaving a trail of empty magazines behind me.

  • Hey Sootch, loved the review. Check out the EMA countdown mags. Also I'd love to see a review on the Troy mags.

  • I wish they had p-mags for the AKs.

  • @Eslamizar

    That would be great.

  • In response to the 416 I heard that they just don't drop free due to the well design but I have no real world experience with it. I like everything I have heard about the P-mag except I think I saw some negatives with the cold weather drop test due to the plastic becoming brittle

  • Too bad we cant own those in California :(

  • The Best on The Market!

    Good Review!

    God Bless

  • They look good sootch

  • Big fan of P-Mags! -- I would like to get one of the new Surefire Mags to test out though!

  • Great review! Just a note for other guys out there. . . if you run a first generation Superior Arms lower reciever, the PMAGS with the window will not fit. The standard PMAGS run just fine.

  • we love our pmags!

  • For the Troy pmags, visit botachtactical, they are $12 each (come in 3 packs)

  • I have a few magpul mags. only issue is double mag pouches, the body isn't smooth and snags. Troy industries have new pmags that are much smoother and less prone to snagging.

  • I have finally bought some and Iam trying them out. Thanks for the review.

  • pmags rock! i even dremelled the inside front edges so now my cheap, not crimped very well A&E 223 ammo even rocks flawlessly.

  • I use nothing but Pmags.

I remember when those aluminum mags. were $75.00.

  • I use nothing but Pmags.

  • I know we have the PMags at work.

  • I love these mags and really like the "win-dha" lol great review! Keep them coming!

  • 30 rounders *drool.

I can get this pinned at 10 haha. I don't need the length, though, so 10/20 rounders are more my thing

  • Im sad that they dont have any 20 round windowed =( Im still buying magpul, but we cant have 30 rounders here. Damn the man!!!

  • Ive heard somewhere that the plastic/polymer magazines has an tendency to crack?

  • got to love Magpul

  • SOOTCH! I saw an episode of shooting gallery on outdoors channel dedicated to zombies.

  • Good vid, I buy AR mags at about a 3 to 1 ratio in favor of Magpul. They work great and look cool but the GI mags have been around so long and been used in so many places I can't just write them off entirely.

  • Haha at the end there. So I am not the only one who takes for ever to get my first shot off. Oh wait the stock isn't shouldered nice. Time to readjust my grip. Saftey is off? Love it.

  • @sootch00 Another great vid sootch. I haven't had any problems with my PMags either. I got one stock with my Spikes Tactical AR so I went out and got some with the window.

  • Hey sootch, do they happen to make these kind of mags for fans of the AK?

  • @Solanum20

Magnolia state armory makes an adapter to convert an AK in 5.56 to use regular STANAG magazines.

That's the only way you're putting p-mags in an AK.

  • @skyhop very Intresting, I love the AK-47 for its reliability; but if I could get it to reliably cycle 5.56 I might have the best of both worlds.

    Thanks

  • FUCK MAGPUL, they ruin AR-15's!

  • @aFlamingTaco Please elaborate..

  • @aFlamingTaco Yes what do you mean? do the cause mechanical problems?

  • hey there, don sootch!! i'm liking the music.

  • Man IM a Magpul Pmag nut now myself! I purchased ONE to test it, and since have purchased many more.. I've never used anything other than the originals, until now, and now cant see going back. Good review on a great USA made product! Thumbs up!~~John

  • its barbie for men ! i love it !

  • @Ripafartstudios I do reload but mostly pistol, but I also use a lot of factory ammo, I'd really rather use factory ammo in my AR, but with all the brass I have, I'm sure I'll be reloading for it as well. Thanks!~

  • Hey what kind of riser do you have on the top receiver rail ??

  • @Acefearkiller It's an A.R.M.S. Swan Sleeve. I've had it for almost 20 years and it's one of the best risers out there.

  • Magpul Pmags, AWESOME ! that is all I do. Magpul also has a great customer service and 10% for LEO, just register your credentials with them. Highly recommended product. I may feed Wolf ammo to my AR once in a while but nothing else but Magpul to my AR

  • Great timing, I just bought this magazine but haven't had an opportunity to try it out yet. Thanks for the review!!

  • I heard these don't work on the HK 416 or the civilian version.. have you heard this?

  • @cobrar85 Try it on yours and see ;)

  • @cobrar85 I haven't heard of any problems with the HK416. I really don't know..

  • @cobrar85 they don't. The magwell on a 416 is different from a standard AR15. You would need to shave off a few nubs to be able to insert it. Just get the Magpul E mags if you have a 416...

  • @cobrar85 You know why? Cause H and K is stuck up their own ass about their rifles, when LWRC and POF clearly make better rifles

  • @TacticalSerenity17

The P-Mag was made AFTER the specs for the STANAG magazine. HK is not retarded, they made the weapon to use in-spec STANAG magazines; only out of spec magazines will not work with the HK. They also won't work with the F2000 or many other standard issue nato weapons.

It's Magpul's fault, they're the stupid ones. I suggest you research the issue. As I said before, Lancer L5 AWM mags are STANAG spec, go with them, or the E-Mag.

  • @skyhop Umm, no magpul isnt stupid, they werent going to compromise design for an old and failing one.

  • @cobrar85 IIRC, they have the EMag for the HK416.

  • @cobrar85 thats why magpul makes the e-mag look at those if youre using a fn scar or hk 416

  • @cobrar85

They don't work with the HK416, or many other STANAG weapons.

The P-mag was designed for american AR15 designs. They released the E-mag to meet standards set by the nato STANAG.

Myself, I believe Lancer L5 AWM magazines are the best on the market, and they are a STANAG magazine, meaning they'll work in pretty much everything. They're also far tougher than aluminum magazine or the P-mag. You can't break the newest gen lancers, I really suggest them to everyone.

  • @cobrar85 magpul had a pmag specifically for European 5.56 rifles (sa80, 416, f2000, ect) i think they call it the emag but not sure about the name

  • @cobrar85 There are emags that are basically pmags that can fit onto other rifles other than the ar15 like the hk416 and rifles that can take 5.56 STANAG magazines.

  • @cobrar85 My Department issue AR (Olympic Arms) did not like Magpul Mags. But they function great in my personal AR. I think they will very from rifle to rifle.

  • @cobrar85 Magpul came out with the E-Mag to address this issue--it will work with the 416, SCAR and other newer, "European," non-traditional AR-15 style rifles which tend to have a slightly smaller magazine well.

  • @cobrar85 mag well angle is different. you can get magpul's Emag that fits non stanag magazine wells but still uses ar-15 mags.

  • @cobrar85 Not sure about the HK416 but there have been some problems with newer guns; MagPul makes the eMag magazines to fix that problem.

  • @cobrar85 I tried a friend's DPMS lower with my DPMS upper and the Pmags are an extremely tight fit in the mag well. I bought a Rock River lower and they drop free though. I'm sure they work in many lowers but the main concern is fitting them in the mag well; some are a much tighter fit than others.

  • @bigapple0828 Got it. Thanks for the info!

  • @cobrar85

I haven't heard of an issue with the 416, however I do know Pmags do require some modification for fitting for the FN SCAR (both military and the 16S civilian models)

  • @cobrar85

Yes, they don't drop free from the HK416. The 416's magwell was designed to mimic the L85 magwell for some reason. For that you would use a Magpul Emag, which was specifically designed for use in the L85, 416, SCAR, and any other rifle that uses a similar magwell. The British actually bought a large number of them for use in Afghanistan. Another option would be the Troy Battlemag or the Lancer AWM.

  • I have 2 with no window and I love those mags they are so reliable.

  • ehhh i like magpul and have some of their stuff on my colt ar but not huge about their mags. I have two mags by magpul right now. The older works pretty good but my other one had a really weak spring. I replaced it and now it works great. Btw have you got ahold of a ruger sr1911 yet? Thanks

    AJ

  • @wrestlerguy27 I have the Ruger SR1911 on my wish list. Hickok45 has a couple of videos using one. They are beautiful. Thanks~

  • hey sootch if you ever could do you think you could get your hands on a del-ton AR-15 and do a review on it be nice to see a big name reviewer do a quality review on a del-ton

  • @techdeckdude4 Any AR I can get my hands on, I'll review : ) I'd love to find a Del-Ton. Thanks~

  • COoL!!1!
