In fact, pads and toilet paper are nearly identical once you fold up the toilet paper. While toilet paper doesn't last her all day and she can't go swimming or anything in it, it's much cheaper and more comfortable for her.

She's been doing it for about a year now and loves it.

Two things... buying in bulk = cheaper usually. And inflation. Two downsides to his idea = storage and having to move them around (if moving house) and also if the current tampon technology is inferior to the future. In addition, the tampons do not become "useless" they simply become out of common use. She could still use the tampons, and it could very well still be less expensive than the new societal solution to menstruation.

I mean no harm, I was just answering your question. In the case of tampons; it is cheaper if bought in large quantity.
