  • ONE OUT EVERY 2 POOR PPLE IN THE WORLD IS IN INDIA --WHAT IS THIS GUY TELLING US

  • @tamaduni . Spot on

  • OMG i want to marry him........ Im looking for ppl with similar minds.

    myspace.comobemarcellaobe

PPl its time to make money in Africa

  • This man is selling cheap labor, consumers, souls to 'foreign' investors and debt. No?

Does no one dare to ask what made forestry in Uganda possible? 'Qui bono'

    JayJBee

    "Only serious reply's please"

  • What do you seriously believe that the other alternative is? when we talk about Aid this is a form of dumping within Africa, undermining the local markets and perpetuating poorness within Africa. instead of that we need people like him to make others believe in a serious investment oppertunity, whether it is FDI(Foreign Direct Investment) or FPI(Foreign Portfolio Investment)

  • 'Alternative'?!?... Isn't 'foreign' not the alternative of what is supposed to be?

My suggestion would be: "us must trust us tusting us"

    JayJBee

"Trust me, that is THE soulution"

  • I don't actually understand what you meant in your second statement.

It is true that there an negative effects to investing in a country, it will give them access to more loanable funds in order to do such things as deforestation.

  • On the other hand if we consider what foreign portfolio investment will do, we can see that a country that takes in investment instead of aid, it will let local businesses thrive by taking out loans, eventually when the economy thrives (an economy cannot thrive without a strong government to protect their assets, theres no point in buying when someone else can come along and say 'this is now mine') it will increase the countries overall PPP,making them having increased market share in the global

  • Nonsense. We ought to stop thinking like this. 'They' banking DOES NOT WORK!!!

The financial industry is just outsourcing the dept collecting to western citisens / investors / entrepenors.

Whitey is as misseducated as 'we' are.

NO FOREIGN INVESTORS (none else but diasporians) PERIOD

  • Stopping foreign investors goes against all principle economic knowledge. We know that Foreign Investors help countries thrive if used correctly, and if used incorrect, can result in bankruptcy, just like Iceland. Every Country in the world has an absolute advantage and a comparative advantage, They just need to harness their true potential, instead of religious insurrection of a country drive it to the stone age Al La Iraq/Afghanistan. also "Whitey" has nothing to do with it.

  • What does 'none but diasporians' tell you, and why do you think it just shows up in my previous comment?... ('sigh'... Am I that smart or are you that desperate to make a point on my account?)

It seems you lack the experience Africa has with foreighn investors.

Pan Africanism is not working as long as our sweat and tears are transfered to tax money behind enemy lines. Realise that there are folks that NEED nationalism to survive. NOW!

There is a gap to overcome tho. A nation.

    United we stand.

  • What in gods name are you talking about.

It makes you look beyond ignorant to call Africa a nation.

  • I got my answer: "you are desperate to make a point."

    JayJBee

"keep it to the on off toggle of your remote"

  • To be expected, you are just another troll.

Like the classical dichotomy, there should be a separation.

Separate what is pertaining to the discussion and leave out argumentative attacks, its completely irrelevant.

  • All I read off your hands is echo's from corporate sponsored media.

Sleep tight. Stop wasting my time.

If I was done knowing what you typed in here, I'd be on the couch every night watching TV.

Only after a couple of drinks in at the bar, I'd pobably think it was smart to repeat after mainstream media.

The religion that is breaking everything up is WARship of tarot cards called 'dollar'.

  • According to this I can assume that you are a massive supporter of heterodox economic theory.

Am I also to assume that you do not believe in a fiat currency system?

do you think that we should start trading barrels of rice for wheat again? the national system that we live in right now cannot survive on any system, you just need to wake up and realize this.

get an education before hand, its true, africa needs help by helping themselves, but america is becoming a liquidity trap like keynes said.

  • Dude. You got a brain to store all you read... havent you got the guts to use that brain?... for you.

Becouse now you are wasting my and your time. I don't know Africa from books, FOOL.

    JayJBee

"I AM AFRICAN one that doesn't sleep"

  • btw, you said only serious replies, so I except no argumentum ad hominem. thank you.

  • there are certainly downfalls to industrialized nations, what could be beneficial is if these countries had strong farming communities, because they say the world has now became over 50% industrialized, meaning that there will be consistant gated communities and slums everywhere, a good example would be India.

  • stop bla-bla-ing.

You are a good laugh to inquired minds with eyes and a heart.

    JayJBee

    "tss tss tsssss"

  • youre just insulting me because you cant come up with a good arguement, you really are pathetic.

Youre probably one of mugabes militants.

  • OMG! (LOL)

I remember this conversation again! I wasn't supposed to answer you again because all my arguments and your shallowness are (still) there for all to read.

I sank to your rank, damn it!

    JayJBee

    "Shoot me"

  • africa needs to shut everybody out for a few decades and rebuild itself completely-no america, no eu, no china, no arabs-africa is big enough where it can trade with itself and be very well off before letting the parasites back in. Once you open the borders, you can have the strategy to limit the parasites' power.

  • Louder!

    JayJBee

    "at every chance you get"

  • @mingosan2006

How well said, even though it is 2 years ago. God bless you.

  • South Africa is developed and there is still unrest. Most of Africa is rich beyond imagination but the wealth is only distributed amongst the corrupt and not the people. A united Africa without corruption and corrupt people would be a blessing to all mankind. I pray that Africa gets rid of the tribal way of thinking and accept all tribes as one. After all, We are all one race... The human race. Peace and love to all.

  • What Africa seriously needs to do is nationalize all our resources so that WE sell our stuff, and WE reap the benefits and WE build up our countries, because the ppl that own everything and mine our lands dont give a damn about us or our standard of living. Its the only way that the richest continent in terms of mineral wealth will be somewhat comparable to the rest of the continents.

  • Most excellent intro to Africa and the various countries therein. Kudos to TED and Euvin Naidoo for bringing critical focus to Africa and its emerging role in global business integration and sustainable development. :)

  • Africa is resource rich so they will stay poor. The U.S. will exploit them for oil and diamonds while backing dictators. There are forces at work too strong to fix with simple aid.

  • I agree with you mrkvamaster at 300%. Moreover I wonder how credible this indian could be when he's talking about Africa. Actually he's a ZA citizen but anyone easily will remember that during apartheid era Indians were considered as colored race while indigenous black people were treated less than animals. Is he really the right man at the right place ? I doubt !

  • Couldn't agree more so called cast Indians in Africa? Just look at the historical record of Indians in Africa Uganda,Kenya,Madagasca and Tanzania. In the carribean conflict between Indians and blacks they are no better than white racist pigs. Africans must unite to solve our own problems.

  • Perhaps the most important web connection I've come across all year. ~Thanks to Tom, tlg847

  • It is a very nice speech but how come he doesn't say a word about Ghana? I ask this because he is always talking about other African countries like Nigeria,South Africa,Botswana and Egypt.

  • I guess this means you could make as informed a speech about the entire continent of Africa, within 20 minutes, and not leave out a single country within it? ~Goood showw then!

I think he did splendidly myself:)

  • ... no word about french speaking African Countries etc...Mettons tout cela sous le compte de la jeunesse...

  • Africa is a place of great opportunity...

    HOLY FUCK! NO SHIT EINSTEIN!

For the holders of global capital (=bankers!), not for the AFRICANS! It used to be called COLONIZATION, now it's called CAPITALIST IMPERIALISM! So let's forget famine, slavery and AIDS and focus on bringing more ATM machines to african people, so they too can become slaves to our global fractional-reserve-debt-based banking system even more than they already are! Fuck YEAH!!!

  • One of the main, no the main mean to bringing africa out of poverty, famine and so on. Is a good economy, money! So how is investing in africa a bad thing? ;)This has nothing to do with colonization.

  • great video! gives a MUCH brighter picture of africa then i realized! there may be a way after all!

  • INTERESTING !

  • Africa will be the new asia for sure! I've already thought of it, I've already read about investment opurtunities and I will be one of the first to invest in this(/these) 'future' emerging market(s)!

  • a great talk, africa has problems, but there are solutions. i dont like it when people fall into the trap and try to offer solutions for all africa and ignore how different the different areas and cultures and gouvernments in africa look. some countries need food or peace the most, essential basic help is needed here, others dont have these problems and need some help in starting economy, and some countries are ready to compete in global financial markets and need the opportunity to do it.
