I saw Carol here in Sarasota a couple years ago as part of the Jazz festival. Great talent and even nicer person. Hope she comes back down here soon for another gig!
I just saw her perform with JV1 at the University of Miami (3/25/11) and she was fantastic. It was one of the best performances I've seen. The audience loved her. I didn't get a CD at the site, but I will certainly buy some from my favorite vendor. I'll start with "Swing Ladies Swing" but I am sure that I'll get several. What a great talent. I made this video one of my YouTube favorites.

Superb. Can I rant? I do not know why you do not receive more support from the Toronto Jazz community. Sure you play what is classified as smooth jazz and well as a traditional jazz and Brazilian jazz.. But, I hardly heard any promotion on the Jazz Station I am member of here in T.O. I think you are one of our countries best talents. Not just in voice but also as a pianist. See you in Markham with Peter Appleyard. I am so looking forward to the concert. Bring lots of CDs to sell.
This song and arrangement are on Ms Welsman's album "Swing Ladies Swing", which I fell in love with back in 1999. It's a real pleasure to see her performing it here.
