  • Holly is great but I think it's Trevor Horn who made this band big and ready for the charts

  • The bassline to this song is so awesome. I started playing the bass because of this group.

  • great songs,great videos,music emotional for babies,frankie eats mcdonalds

  • Great songs, terrible videos. Classic eighties dilemma.

  • Grew up with FGTH, 16 years later, still appreciating.

  • Trevor horn…….respect

  • I remember finding this album in my dad's collection when I was 12 and I listened to the first few tracks and I thought I'd been landed in Fantasia (Neverending Story anyone?). I'm not from the 80s, but I knew gold when I found it! The world is my oyster......

  • @technoditz best music u can get

  • Still brilliant today!

  • @Jermyn78 is a dichead

  • @Jermyn78 -You are a pathetic Maneuver-ManUuuo fan...get a life...if it was because of the music and art coming from Mersyside you were still singing Thomas Eakins...you are jealous of Liverpool's eternal love...LFC supporter from Glendale, CA.

  • @hayasazzi Man U fan? Nah, I'm not a Man U fan.

  • Still looking ,yet to find the pleasure dome

  • wasn't the pleasure dome a club in Liverpool??

  • the hardest part for these guys was pretending to look interested!

  • Ron "heart attack" Hardy use to smash this nightly at the music box.

  • i dont get the clip XD

  • Outstanding Bass work!

  • The Business is a 2005 British drama/crime/gangster film written and directed by Nick Love. The film stars Danny Dyer, Tamer Hassan and Roland Manookian It also stars Geoff Bell and Georgina Chapman. The plot of The Business follows the Greek tragedy-like rise and fall of a young cockney's career within a drug importing business run by a group of British ex-pat fugitive criminals living on the coast of the Costa del Sol (aka the "Costa del Crime") in Spain.

    1 to watch.!!!!!

  • war das ne geile mucke,ey ...........die hatte ich damals als Maxi bei "maxis-maximal"aufgenommen bei NDR2 boah ey is das lange her!

  • Always liked the song, grew up playing this over and over from my brothers CD collection..... still love it! Gay isn't my thing but a great tune.

  • Still the gayest song ever written. Fantastic stuff!

  • @neujack totally agree. -djQ

  • If it aint happening in Liverpool, it aint happening anywhere.....

  • Body Double. Good flick indeed...well, sorta ;-)

  • Great song and album! Thanks!

  • I would be pretty disappointed if the Pleasure Dome is some sort of Medieval Faire and a ghetto Cirque du Soleil show. Maybe Holly Johnson had such fun at the real Pleasure Dome (i.e. the banned version of Relax video) and got lost when trying to go back there with his boys despite using a helicopter and map.

  • @bankconsultant Did you see the album artwork? You'd know what it was.........lmao

  • So the satan trick them and they go to hell

  • I like the tarts in the car, but thats just me after a couple of drinks...

  • Awesome, is the Pleasure Dome the Garden Centre near the Waterloo Pub on Otty Prom!!

  • hêh_ÁñyÖNê_wánñà_chÄt_wïth_mË_ì_fÈèl_sÓ_lønélÿ_tÔdÂý♫

  • CALM DOWN CALM DOWN

  • I remember the day this album was released...nobody could touch these guys, they were GOD

  • @sonicmoremusic1

    that´s my opinion too

  • @sonicmoremusic1 agreed.. they could do no wrong. Well in front of their time.. the gay thing turned the public against them which was a shame.. but with AIDs hitting the streets, it was a dirty word... love this track and the album.

  • @BigSeanP i still have the vinyl album and have to say still sounds brillant now, and i'm not a 80's tragic most of my music is from the 90's to now, my brother brought it from the uk when i was 10, when he died i listened to it again and shit it still sounds really fresh even now.

  • @sonicmoremusic1 agreed!,the production on the album was imense

  • Kurt Cobain didn't come a moment too soon to bury the 80s.

  • @TheHandsomeCrab Ironically Kurt Kobain has no skin left at all.

  • @TheHandsomeCrab why people don't like him he is all right to me but Teen Spirit is pretty much overrated while the rest of the songs I could handle

  • great bassline.. I remember a pisstake in the spitting image annual calling the second frankie album 'welcome to the same album as last time' anyone else remember this?

  • awesome !!!

  • Love the opening credits of 'the business' with Frankie being driven along the coast line with the marina, posh apartments and glorious spanish beaches in the shot and Welcome to the Pleasuredome playing over the top, encapsulates the whole decade.

  • fuckin great song

  • love this songgggggg

  • world class good times

  • As far as I can see, the Pleasure Dome is a metaphor for hell.

  • What's your pleasure? He opens his hand and satisfies the desires of all living!

Play safely out there, it's a big wide world and there is something for everyone...

  • AHHH BRILLIANT , WATCHED " THE BUSINESS " LAST NIGHT AND IT BROUGHT ME RIGHT BACK , REMEMBER BUYING THE ALBUM WHEN IT CAME OUT AND IT BLEW MY MIND , PLAYED IT OVER AND OVER , DROVE THE OULD FELLA MENTAL. , CLASS.

  • @MrGreendragon3 Shut up dickhead.

  • ERECT!!!!!!

  • Was in France on holiday with the school when I first herd this album, A holiday with many firsts ;-)

  • Great song, sucks this YT version is in mono.

  • @zenmachinefilms What did you expect? Its the 80's!!!!

  • Shooting stars never stop, even when they reach the top =^_^=

  • @LaMadhatter That is EXACTLY what I think of when I hear this song! Was I a bit young to be going there, aged eleven, then?

  • Who-ha who-ha Welcome to the Pleasuredome

  • A classic good times

  • @RuthLombardo191 yeah shut up

  • Great Jetranger!!

  • u can hear relax at the start in the back ground, great song both welcome to the Pleasure Dome and relax

  • The live version in Australia is hot, hot and even hotter. Forget Holly and bring on this Melloy.

  • Willkommen auf der Kuppel der Lust (Vergnügen) !Was soll man noch mehr dazu sagen.Schweigen und den Titel geniessen.

  • Wow, fantastic song!

    AWFUL VIDEO=P

  • @gunsnhalen better as fucking sluts dancing videos...like today.

  • huh, wasn't there a version of this song in the Toys soundtrack?

  • Not much of a Pleasure Dome. I think i would have stayed in the car and jumped those three birds myself. Cheers

  • this has been cut and shortened

  • ryfgutihyafoipdfg sorry was cleaning my keyboard

  • Great to see this again, excellent beat, excellent production, Class

  • I love that Ron Hardy used to play this song, on repeat, for extended periods of time while the crowd grew in the Music Box. Damn I wish I partied with those crazy mthrfckrs....

  • @stecon5

fab image. when dj's break/make the rules & it becomes part of the myth= LOVE.

  • Brings back happy memories of being off School with flu in April '85. Music was great then, at the good end of 1985, not the crap Whitney Houston and A-ha end of '85.

  • better than duran duran...

  • TOYS!!!

  • this track is genius, its complex on so many levels, yet can be a simple listen if you want it to be, it scales to what you want to hear, plenty of hidden layers to be sought out!

  • Lol I first heard this in the movie "Toys". I'm talking, like, nearly 20 years ago. I loved it in that film and went away satisfied that the compser, Hans Zimmer, had created it.

I had NO idea that an actual musical group had put it together, and years earlier no less. This is awesome.

  • I remember this from Toys.

  • this is the jam , eh ?! good memories of when this album had first come out . : ))

  • @sYnerGyZniGmA did you buy the "Hugo Ball" t-shirt? or the "sophisticated Charles Baudelaire" sweat shirt? i wish i had

  • @whosthatwrite no i didnt, wish i did ... i love baudelaire ...

  • Classic track still love it today FGTH rocks!!

  • I miss FGTH days X

  • Love the song.. love the video... dark and sexy...

  • @AngryNewAger I like this better than the live version concert in which Ryan Mallory did the lead vocals at Trevor Horn's 25th anniversary show.Holly did a very job than Ryan.

  • "HEY PAL, YOU GOT A PHONE I CAN USE, THREE FAGS JUST STOLE MY CAR!"

  • @WiIdbiII Actually, the three guys who stole the car were the straight members of Frankie.

  • @nonamesleftdammit My Mistake..... but you've got to admit they dont look to straight.

  • Does he say "The German car, the german car, huh ha huh ha" ?? Anyway great classic!

  • Saw them in '85. Fuck am old.

  • @MOSESCAT69 Fuck Im jealous :P

  • Comment removed

  • If you understand the innuendo, you understand Frankie!

  • Insanely great bass...

  • One of the best dance songs ever!!!

  • There's something not quite right about that Pleasuredome. I have a bad feeling that Frankie and the gang might be wishing they'd stayed back at the club that night.

  • 7= mystische Offenbarung.

  • ..."I'm a long way from home"!

  • I remember hearing this at a party in the 80s, thinking how strange but groovy it was. And that was the 13-minute album version. This video is kinda strange, like many 80's videos.

  • Stereo-typical or what Scousers nicking a car and getting chased by a helicopter (police?) with a bit of violence thrown in and some dodgey birds !! Good vibe tho' !!

  • Stereo-typical or what Scousers nicking a car and getting chased by a helicopter ?

  • brings back the years , long time ago i seen them in dublin

  • super song und sound,hu ha frankie goes to hollywood!!!

  • love this tune!

  • Bloody hell, still looking ,never found the pleasure dome, getting bit old even if i find it tomorow.Still great 80s music

  • @nickmadman It was in Birkenhead in the 90's and they had this song as it's first song complete with laser show. Was ok for the first few times but then got boring.

  • I wasn't a Frankie fan back in the day, but I remember this song. It kicks butt!

  • epic!

  • such a brilliant band this was...

  • i was driving and listening to this full blast at night in anahiem and when they said "on our way home welcome to the pleasure dome" Angel stadium was all lit up like in the movie. u had to be there

  • the bearded lady lol...

  • always makes me want to watch the business ;)

  • @ThinkingInFractals me to pal lol

  • YEAH!!!

  • on the strength of the misquoted coleridge line, i found the only poem i love, all other poetry is a flawed medium, what with the compromise of the perfect word just so fits in the rythmn and rhyme. also learning about coleridge i decided to try a close relation to his kendal laudenum and ended up with a raging heroin addiction for few yrs

  • God I love this song; the video on the other hand...

  • I always knew this song name, but I never actually found it. Hoe Ha, Hoe Ha!

    5/5

    80's + 90's <3

Long way from home... WELCOME TO THE PLEASUREDOME! On our way home!

  • great great great , best frankie song ever

  • So, SO good! Happy memories, this gives me chills:)

  • Always loved the bassline on this!

  • Supposedly "Relax" is a bigger hit than this, but I like this song a bit more than "Relax" :)

  • where might this pleasure dome be located?

  • @keepitinyourpantsjoe The Pleasure Dome is a fairground thrill and spill ride in skegness where at the highest point you are actually nearly 3 metres off the ground and spinning round about 5 miles an hour!!! Load of poofs over here. Why cant we build them like they do in the U.S or Canada? Not sorry about the pun Holly, it was intended.

  • @keepitinyourpantsjoe its from an old poem written in the early 1800s by a man called Samuel Taylor Coleridge who was constantly high! He wrote a poem called Kubla Khan based on a dream he had when high! It talks about the pleasure dome and thats where this comes from! :D

  • @Beccagirl28 except they only say the first couple of words of the poem and in the end of the sentence he has the audacity to change coleridges words, i like some of frankie's stuff but not to smart putting ur own lyrics up against the works of a genius

  • needs a longer intro...

  • @VyktorAbyss

    It has......on the DVD

  • Nick Love's "the Business" starring Danny Dyer and Tamer Hassan uses this throughout the film and as it's main soundtrack.
