  • On ne peut pas se lasser d'écouter cette musique de rêve et le ragtime en général ! ! ! !

  • great recording , note the softness the then day mics gave. with room echo. instant speak easy. Rag time roll. mmmmm so sweet.

  • i brew my moonshine to this shit

  • Scott Joplin is the Chuck Norris of the piano.

  • @MrFartypants112

yes, he say "You, piano, play!" and plays eh? :-)

  • @DigitopGR YES

  • This song inspired me to start playing full octaves on piano when i first started. Thank you Scott Joplin for introducing me to Jazz. He was the first Pianist i ever listened to. Thank God i found him.

  • Haha. This reminds me of "When the Bomb Goes Off".

  • And this is so AWESOME to play !

  • So Great!

  • Beautiful, rather metaphysical at this juncture in my life...

  • i am learning this song!

  • 1:21 I swear i've heard this on ice cream truck

  • @toadsEATbugs

It might be true, because some rag times tunes have been adapted for ice cream trucks.

  • @MrStaxxy Sad... but true.Scott Joplin was a pioneer in his own way. I love his rags, and thanks to the player piano that came out during his lifetime, He was able to record his songs with all the dynamics he meant the pieces to have. If you have any of Joplin's piano rolls, you can here an EXACT reproduction of what Scott Joplin played on the recording roll on a 'punching piano' (the machine that created the master roll from which all other rolls were duped).

  • this the first piece of joplin....fantastic

  • @Mr98giuliano I am afraid you are wrong. It was a good piece that apparently preceded Maple Leaf Rag. I believe his first piece was Great Crush Collision March in 1896. Original Rags and Maple Leaf Rag were in 1899, putting Joplin on the map. The Entertainer is his second greatest song made in 1902. Silver Swan Rag was Joplin's only released posthumously. I will agree with you that Original Rag is FANTASTIC!

  • @AMEwrestling Indeed you are right ...... I realize I missed the comment ..... thanks for the correction

  • @AMEwrestling Joplin's first published piece was the song "Please Say You Will" in 1895. Silver Swan was not issued posthumously. It was issued as a piano roll in 1914 (it was not sold as sheet music until the 1970s). Reflection Rag was issued posthumously (and may have been only a collection of strains from complete rags that Stark still had left over from before Joplin began working with other publishers).

  • Love Scott Joplin, such an awesome composer. Is it just me, or did the creators of Super Mario Sunshine just steal everything from Scott Joplin's rags? haha

  • hey cool, 26th april, too :)

  • Scott Joplin, composer of the coolest tunes.

    EVAHR.
