WG was right out of some sci fi 60's movie, talk about cool. my family went there from 1940s on, and had relatives working there wheni was a kid in the 70s. i met coaster lovers down south that knew exactly where it was. mad it closed.. Penn. -was- full of great "mini" parks. my favorite other than the coaster and the little scarey dark chickenwire buildingwas the funhouse(probably not legal by today's insurance guidlines as it was pretty dangerous, you had to know where to step! txs for post.
brings back a lot of memories. my brother and i went to that park often as young kids and rode that ride religiously. my father played music at the park on saturday and sunday for a few years. man those were the days.
This was probably the first coaster that I rode as a kid. Wonderful memories. Thanks for posting this. I didnt know the part was closed, but could assume so.
the old coaster is still standing today. now there is a flea market in the park every sunday....they will never tear the coaster down...old rides in the park were found at WGHSEA's property and have been being sold at the sale at evry fall williams grove historical steam engine associations sales..always fun times at the grove
it's a shame that the park is closed now; I never dot to ride this coaster. but I might, because the coaster is staying even though a flea market will be where the park was... yes, looks quite painful and rickety, but hey, I can bike to williams grove.
It's unfortunate that a classic like this would have to go. But it looks terribly painful. And the screech reminds me of Mean Streak at Cedar Point. Need I say more?
Nice vid. I used to ride that as a kid. Surprised most of the rides were still up and running 15-25 years ago. Was a fun place tho now I fish there alot.
I loved this park

It's a unique coaster in that the return trip goes right under the outward track. I hope they're able to save it.

My first job as a teenager was as a ride operator at Williams Grove Park in the 1970s. Lots of fond memories.

That is the most disgusting thing I have ever seen. :/
The track comes off the wood in some places! They should either fix it completely or make firewood out of it, in my opinion. :\

I loved this coaster. Many of their rides were fun, and convientient to ride. Only a little while away from my house.
