this is stevens favorite aeromith song, have 2 agree w/ him. steven wrote this song in the middle of winter in massachasetts in the basement. he was flying high when this song was wrote. high or not he still did 1 wicked job.
@WindowWorld2 - Thank you so much! I'm so glad they showed the early (better!) Aerosmith to the likely unknowing audience. This is one of my favorite songs. Many other favorites on this underrated album
at one time Steven Tyler was definitely THE man...he just gives me goosebumps every time I hear him sing. It has been over 30 years and IMO it never gets old...
aerosmith's unpluged has to be one of the best sessions/concerts of all time. The collective unpluged version is to good. Obviously , one of the best bands ever but surely one of the best bands to darkin the stage with no more than a P.A. system or less but sound the same if not better than most bands could ever hope for.....Aerosmith is one of those great bands that seem to only come along every so often, still playing and still recording great songs and albums. We are blessed to be in thier time
shit why didnt aerosmith make an acoustic version of idont wanna miss a thing!!!? from animal crackers!!? i demand one and can someone explain me why they havent done it? or can i buy it some where?
I have been seeing them live since, um, the late 70s but they never played this in my town till about six years ago. I thought I had died and gone to Aerosmith heaven..... Get Your Wings is still an amazing album!
@JAMoore0123 I'm going to vote their first five are the best... something about musicians who are still hungry, talented, and not driven by the pressure of record companies or deludled by their own fame -- look at most of the music you love - I bet it's when the artist is still relatively new. anyway, enjoy all!
"Seasons of Wither" is one of my faves, and , in restrospect, I imagine Steven Tyler has always been "unplugged," underrated, misstated, and inundated with amazing talents. I believe Steven is just taking a breather with American Idol, perhaps contemplating a solo jazz- rock ' n roll blues album with Qunicy Jones. This is a rumour we are hoping to hear once that littlle songbird tells it to their ears...Steven Tyler is so vocally talented until we believe that he needs a new producer like QJ
I was born & raised in Worcester, Mass graduated from Worceter Boy's Trade High School class of 81' and know first hand Aerosmith was rocking everywhere in New England all through my high school days and beyond. Aerosmith is by far the greatest American rock band to ever set foot on a stage. They always had their own unique sound. No band before or since has even come close
@TheRachelArchuleta I think that is REAL proof of a band when they can re produce it LIVE sounding just like the album.(MINUS alot of the electronics,in this case. ;)

Joe plays the song too slow in the beginning ... Joey picks up the tempo with his intro on drums ..... and Steven? ... He fucking nails it!

When it comes to lead vocals, Steve Tyler has maybe 5 peers in the last 40 years.
Serious, no exaggeration. I have this album obviously, but hearing this for the 1st time in quite awhile gave me chills.
