An interesting character. He can't possibly be really human because he would have to be 300+ years old in order to have known Alucard before SOTN. The old man look probably isn't his true form, yet for some reason he chooses to look like that. And what could he possibly need money for inside that castle?

@EvilRyuGuy : Yeah, there are a lot of mysteries in Castlevania. Whatever the case may be, Konami just needed an excuse to have a shop in SOTN.

In the PSP version of Symphony of the Night Alucard ask "How about this?" instead of saying "I'm interested in this" plus his voice is different. It should have been kept how it was in the original.

@Stonethrower7 They changed all the voice acting, including the infamous WHAT IS A MAN scene. I guess they thought they'll have more class this way. The new voice acting sucks though.

@Stonethrower7 I think its because of the contracts to the original voice actor. At the time Alucard was voice acted by a guy named Robert Belgrade, who actually was famous for a lot of different game voice acting in the 90s. I might be wrong but I think since it would be illegal to continue to sell the game with his voice in it without paying him royalties, they extracted his voice and used someone else's. Maybe he wanted too much money so they hired another actor.

Its an odd theme. I wish the RPG elements will continue in future Castlevania games. Im not aware of any other besides SOTN and simons quest.

Im interested in those Nintendo DS Vania games though. Those games seem to be on point.

The 3d vanias seem to be dissapointing. Lament of Innocence was mediocre. A dissapointment.

I certainly liked the myriad of equipment in SOTN, some have interesting effects or special commands.

I miss 2D games in general and wish they were not limited to handheld systems. I don't think there is any way to for a "translate" a 2D side-scroller to a 3D plane without compromising the original feel of the game.

It's unfortunate that it wasn't included in the OST because it is actually a decent track. It took some effort to find it, but was worth it.
