I have a 2K8 997 turbo and it will blow the doors off of cars costing 2 or 3 times as much in both acceleration and handling. Some times it is just better to keep your mouth shut than to reveal your ignorance. And no, they are not the car company of the 90s, or the 40s or the 50s. They are the performance car company of the 21st century.

@seanieee17867 The PDK or "Doppelkupplungsgetriebe" is an automated manual. So no, there's no clutch pedal, just paddle shifters. Before PDK, Porsche had "Tiptronic" same idea, the difference being that this is double clutched so the shifting is super quick.

@sohaibthephilosopher thanks, yeah I knew automatic transmissions automatically shift for you, I just didn't know how PDK works. So it's just porsche's version of a twin clutch? Kinda like how awd has different names for different manufacturers, like Mercedes's 4matic? Just the company's name for the "operation" you could say? So, for PDK, Is there even a clutch pedal? Do you need to learn how to drive it like one would do for a manual? Basically what i'm asking is, how do you operate PDK?

@seanieee17867 Porsche's PDK is essentially two clutches combined into one. You do not have any clutch pedal. The gear selector is something like the Tiptronic with PRND layout and a manual override. You can either put it in D and it will drive like an automatic or put it in M and shift sequentially by the wheel paddles or the gearstick. Porsche calls it PDK, VW calls it DSG, BMW has DCT. Mercedes 4matic is their awd system. Hope this helps:)

Would someone explain to be how PDK works? I can't find a video or any specific information online, is there a clutch for the "manual" transmission? I know it's a seven speed, but how is shifting gears accomplished with PDK? It always just seems to be simple paddle shifting with no clutch, which I think takes away the fun from a traditional 5 or 6 speed manual, but that's just me.
