  • This is why I only use Chicco Keyfit infant seats.

  • The snugg ride now goes up to 35 once your child is to big to carry it's great to just leave them in it just don't take the seat out anymore just as long as the child still meets the weight and height limits

  • i do wish they made bigger seats like a rear facing to 50 pounds and forward facing to at least 80 a 5 point harness that is. i

  • graco does not have that many high weight seats the nautilus is great the myride is awesome. the infant carriers have improved significantly. there are now some that go up to 35 pounds. i am very pleased. most children will outgrow the carriers by height before weight so a converteble seat is nessesary for most.

  • I agree with GraciesMama9685. This car seat was not installed properly. I can't believe the NHTSA would release a video when the car seat was obviously installed incorrectly.

  • the seat belt wasn't tightened enough if it was that wouldn't happen

  • actually the infant seat dont rear face past 22 ponds the convertable are good but most only forward face to 40. nautilus and myride are thier only decent seats. they forward face to 65 but a child needs to be harnessed to 53 inches and or 80 pounds

  • @d103cc

graco safe seats rear face and are rated to 30 pounds and the snugride 32 goes up to 32 pounds rear facing...also there are SEVERAL "Decent" seats that have higher weight limits for forward facing.

  • this is why i use the vehicle seat belt to put mine instead of the latch belt. they give out to easily which can be seen if you watch closely the end of the strap gets shorter and the seat twists,. This is why i use the vehicle seat belt. This slack can be seen in normal use you have to retighten the seat down every few days as it naturally comes loose. I have switched to the vehicle belt I do not have to tighten the belt every few uses as with the latch belt.

  • this is exactly why graco is garbage they only have one seat thats right one seat that is decent ant that is the nautilus thier seats only rear face to20 pounds kids should be rear facing to atleast 33 pounds. and forward facing to 80 pounds or 53 inches then bossters but baby carriers by graco, evenflo are garbage.

  • @d103cc Have you taken a stroll through walmart or babies r us lately?! All Graco infant seats RF to 22, 30, or 32lbs. And all their convertibles RF to 30 or 35lbs.

  • Ive been in a wreck, with my son in the car, and i know his head jolted forward in a rear facing seat. Because mine went back. and nothing restrains the head anyway. Anyway my carseat wobbled like this, but i pushed the front seat to the back of his car seat to where it wouldnt. and he was fine.

  • If your child has a lot of head excursion in a frontal crash while in a rear facing car seat then it is possible that the car seat was not installed correctly. However you have to keep in mind that a rear-facing seat is designed to move at the top by the child's head. This is to decelerate the crash forces in a frontal collision.

  • When you test the car seat for tightness you want to test it right at the belt path not at the top. There should be less than 1 inch of movement side to side and forward and back. Remember this is at the belt path only. The top of the car seat should have some movement. Your child was fine so in my opinion the car seat did just what it was suppose to do. Now be sure not to use that seat ever again. Never use a seat after a collision no matter how minor.

  • holy crap....I had this car seat with that base. and it did wobble excessivly. and i worried about it and took it out and used the other option. then I got a new car seat. jesus christ i'm glad i paid attention.

  • Who's posting all this crap? I honestly don't think any of these crash test videos are accurate!!!!

  • What is this seat sitting on? Is that even a car bench? It just looks so darn squishy or something LOL. I know some amount of infant seat rebound is normal and is part of the function of the seat... but I'm just curious if there would be less rebound if the seat was installed on a proper car seat GWIM?

  • The mistake all of these videos make is not showing at full speed as well as slow motion. In a high speed impact, basically anything will look soft in slow motion. Guaranteed that is not a "squishy" seat.

  • No way that car seat is installed properly. There is much more than 1 inch of movement at the belt path.
