Choosen to go into space?! You've got to be kidding.."Bugs Bunny"wasn't choosen to fly to the moon..he was forced to do it.BTW:"Marvin The Martian"(in his first encounter with the rabbit)sounds too much like "Bugs"here.
@Auron12786 During WWII, when the US Military sent advance scouts into enemy territory, they would often leave graffiti of a man with a long nose and the message "Kilroy was here" as a joke to other soldiers, who often though they were the first men into the area.
@avalanchesuperstar@Tron239 Yep that's it. Mel Blanc always did the voice of Marvin as he did in this short. It was one of the first and Blanc wanted a more fierce demanding type of voice. So Blanc just perfected it to the voice of Marvin we've all come to know. I'm glad he did! The name "Earthling" and "Space Discombobulator" just wouldn't be the same...lol
@sMCCarthyTV1 Its in The Looney Tunes Show. The Reunion episode where Marvin was a nerd. He looked very weird. Just look up a picture: Marvin The Martian No Helmet. Your Welcome.
@TheAzzkicker3000 Wait, Mel Blanc did Marvin's voice in all the Looney Tunes shorts he was in. This is him if the opening credits are right. Maybe he just hadn't perfected the voice yet.
Can someone explain what "Kilroy" was all about? I see it all the time at home but I could never get that across my mind :-/ If someone please tell me, thanks so much
It says "Fasten Seat Belts" when there aren't even seats in the ship, let alone seatbelts. It's strange how the ship is gigantic to Bugs on Earth, but on the moon, it fits his size.
I understand that this cartoon was first released in 1948, but how could it? I thought that such rockets being launched into space with a passenger inside would be something from the late 50's and 60's. Heck, Sputnik I was nine years away from being launched into orbit when this cartoon came out!
@GameStation3 -- "Flash Gordon" had been flying around the solar system for years before Bugs Bunny landed on the moon, and you'll notice that all of the rockets resemble the Germans' V-2. Marvin the Martian even has a "V-16".

@Auron12786 It's a graffito that appeared all over the place during the forties and fifties.
