It entirely depends on the quality of voice and technique. Domingo supposedly has a heavier, more burnished (nice marketing jingle eh?) voice but does it make a difference. He sounds piss poor when he sings Nessun Dorma.
Beautiful. Nessun dorma, although usually meant to be sung by a heavier tenor is still magical whenever Luciano sings it. A lyric version is not bad at all once in a while. In fact the first ever Calaf was a lyric tenor, Miguel Fleta.
