  • great vid, just ordered my ae4000,and now i can really see the diffrens on the picture

awesome vid, this really helps out, alot, thanks again

  • check out the over exposed TAXI sign on the PT-AE4000U around 53 seconds

  • The 4000 is clearly sharper and brighter. Seems the size of the picture is bigger on the right ...hmm. Also the 4000 new is less expensive than the 3000 used!

  • Very nice video comparison should be obvious to anyone who understands proper video quality that the AE 4000 is the winner hands down. You can see it plain as day in this clip. Shadow detail and color are far better on the 4000.

  • Image of right side projector is framing slower than the other one, is this something related to the Hz ? About colors and tones , it's not appreciable in this youtube video , even using 720p viewer. About movie, it's not a real 1080p full hd recorded movie, if possible try to perform tests using a newest movie like Terminator 4 or similar, let's see results :)

  • @miqueltaule I'll push for newer movies in future tests! Thanks for the recommendation.

  • Looks exactly the same image.. , I also think that you're playing and old movie that was not recorded in Full HD 1080p standards

  • @miqueltaule Hi there. I saw some big differences in the way each projector portrayed skin tones. Right now, I have the video paused at 0:52 and Bruce is two different colors. Do you see that?

We're playing Fifth Element on Blu-Ray, so it should be full HD. Out of curiosity, why do you think otherwise?

    Thanks!

  • @miqueltaule whilst Fifth Element isnt the best transfer to bluray ever, age of the film as nothing to do with it, take the hd-dvd of 2001 made in 1968 the transfer of this movie is stunning and perfect.

  • @queb12 I concur with the hd-dvd of 2001. when I had my Panasonic RPTV I used 2001 as a reference after adjusting convergance patterns, 2001 has to be one of the purest films I have ever seen.

  • 4000 delivers more natural skin tones. If i only had the room to put it :)

  • Unfortunately I used the HD60 setting on my camera by accident - genius i know! So the big differences are not as noticeable because of my setting. The biggest differences to me were the changes to frame interpolation and detail clarity processor. Basically where you used to get almost too much detail (something people dislike with 120hz) with the AE3000U, the AE4000U allows you more control over the image. Colors and contrast also improved, but hard to tell from the video. BTW, get a room! :)

  • i only use 120hz ( 100hz in europe ) in games but i'm not a fan of this technology in movies playback.

Can i use ae4000u on a curved projection screen? I know the anamourphic effect is not phisical.

I'm building a house this year, and the cinema room is a main concern ;))

  • i am going to look into that for you. and its good to see you have your priorities in order! :)

  • can't thank you enough... I didn't get any feedback from panasonic yet regarfing this...

  • @hereacostin sorry it's been so long for the reply. According to our product management vp, the Panasonic is not set up for it. He says... "I do not believe this unit has any option for geometric modifications of the image. The PTD6710US is the only Panasonic model I know that has that feature." There maybe some other options. Might post on AVS Forum and get some feedback from them. Sorry again for the delay!

  • the Panasonic PT-AE3000U looks a bit darker but other than that they are very close.

  • não percebi diferença.

  • lQQks the same!
