Love this car. This is my realistic dream car. I would get it in the same color, but with no options....I cant believe im asking this, but what color is the interior?
@MrMockeryMcFly thanks lol. you can kind of see it in one of the clips in the video, tan leatherette, black dash and dark brown wood trim. i wanted more of a classy look, rather than totally sporty. i love this car, just hit 43k miles on it. we've driven from FL to Cali and back, through death valley @ 105 degrees, to Yosemite Nat'l park at -7 degrees. I had summer tires on it so it was scary in the snow, but killer in the desert!!! you buy it to drive it!
if i have 31k for a car and my choices are loaded gti or base 128i... what should i pick? hows the stock sound system? and what do i tell people that say this is a girls car
@CoonBabble I liked the 128i...its just a much more professional car, not as much of a toy.
stock sound is quiet, to be honest. Mine is stock, but i have the dampening valve open to allow a little more rumble out. not much, i didn't want noisy.
If you like the car, who cares what someone else thinks? If someone said "its girly", i'd say "okay." no need to start a fight over something stupid. If you wanted to start a fight, say "you're girly", or "eat shit".
@CoonBabble they are the base wheels. The stereo is pretty good up to a reasonable volume, and then the lower freqs start to become distorted. I use the car as a reference when making mixes (if you look through my other videos, you'll see I do a lot of recording).
@CoonBabble I'm also trying to make the exact same decision. I don't know the answer yet, but the bottom line is, you have to drive both cars and decide yourself. imho, the bmw edges out in at-the-limit handling (just b/c you can put power down better), but for less than 9/10th, it's basically a draw, or maybe even a little advantage for the gti. The gti feels more planted than non-sport 128. And even though it's rwd, 128 understeers quite a bit. Lift midcorner on the gti, and -->cont'd
@CoonBabble -->the tail will step out. With the 128, that won't happen most of the time. But then again, you can give more power and induce power oversteer, which is def. fun. I may end up going with the gti, but i'm changing my mind every other day on this one. Good luck with the decision.
@kha2004 thanks man, my 128i is scheduled for production and will be here in january. black with terra cotta, sport package, 6 speed, harman kardon, and satellite radio
@CoonBabble it can be a girl's car, but it's definitely a driver's car. i would take the 128i over gti. its sporty but classy. gti says "soccer coach" to me. sound system is very clear, but if you want volume it will probably disappoint. handling is superb, acceleration is decent, braking is excellent.
well there were goals...the only uncontrallble ones were the 360s that ended up rolling backwards. It was mostly just figure 8s..either way i know its not great but it was fun.
yeah it is. I'm not the guy who's face you saw in the car (with the floral print swim shorts), thats my brother in law whos a bit younger than me. we took turns driving...the only spots you can see me are right at the beginning, and you can see my hands in some scenes (i have the college ring w/ red stone on my right hand)
Oh I see very nice. I would only plan to do this sort of thing when I am getting new tires, cause I need them in a few thousand miles, and a place where I can do this. So far I cannot think of a safe place. =/
Yeah, I agree about the safe place. I went to a police training skidpad where there are no obstacles to hit. It's also Soo slick that it really doesn't wear the tires when wet (notice I was able to slide at such low speeds).
But when the ground is dry, especially in a regular parking lot or something, you'll take a lot of miles off the tires. The standard runflat tires suck bad too. they wear really fast. I replaced them with the Yokohama sDrives
Oh By the way, NEVER go on a skidpad with the windows open. In a few clips here the windows were open. 6 months later im still finding dirty water marks inside the car, on the back seat, the roof, the headrests,,
Looks sweet. I've got a 128i and used my for Drag Racing. Haven't had a chance to try drifing. Looks fun! Tell me those aren't the factory runflats...!!!?? I replaced mine within 10K miles. It wasn't due to drag racing either!
It was a lot of fun, but that skidpad was wayy to slick. those actually were the runflats - had to do something with them before i put on the new tires! :-p i bought a pair a yokohama sDrives which have been treating me really well.
how did the car do on the strip? I havn't done that yet, I don't have the heart to drop my clutch like that yet haha.
i had all of that off...considering it is an electronic diff, and it only applies braking to the inside wheel (rather than actually adjusting the torque), you can turn it off by pressing-and-holding the DTC button until a little 360degree arrow shows up.
0:13 FLAWLESS 360. nice driving, man. i'd kill to get on that skidpad with a performance car haha

@Carminesilano I took delivery of my 128i in November. I'm so glad i went with it instead of the Gti. way more car for the money.

THe 135i is nice, but i wouldnt spend the extra money. Instead I would buy a loaded 128i instead. By the way, this music is terrible.

Yeah... If I could only hit up tracks and slid pads! LOL
I should do crazyy stuff in the rain SAFELY.
I just need new tires soon but Idk what to get...
Maybe the stock Bridgestone Potenzas or something else. I'll look into it when time gets closer to replacing.
I look @ Industrial Areas for now. I dont really like run flats, good practical safety with BMW but they kinda suck on performance.
sDrives? I gotta check them.
